May 15 2026
Happy Friday!
We continue to be in the midst of a busy and exciting spring season for our school community. This week marked the beginning of our spring concert series. All those involved in this week's choir and band concerts did an outstanding job. We are incredibly proud of the student performers and grateful to Mr. Leister, Ms. Pierce, and Ms. Kalil for all their work. The final concert in the series will be next Wednesday, 5/20 featuring the Honors Band & Orchestra.
This weekend we are looking forward to the Class of 2026's Senior Prom. Grand March will be held at WHS at 5 pm (student check in is at 4:30 pm) prior to their departure to Atkinson for the event.
Finally, looking ahead to next week, we will have our Spring Spirit Week with lots of energy and school spirit!
Senior "Assassins" Game: We would like to bring to your attention that there is an annual water game, not affiliated with our school, that some of our junior and senior students are participating in outside of school hours. We would like our parents to be aware and to have appropriate conversations with their children about safety and respect for our community. This game is not allowed on school grounds. If this game takes place on a school campus, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken to ensure everyone's safety.
Thank you for your ongoing support and participation in keeping our students and community safe.
WSD Summer Camps: Registration for the Windham School District summer camps is now open! Visit the website today for more information. These camp programs will be available for all students for five weeks this summer. Students can try something new, plan with a friend, make new friends, and enjoy their summer adventures at any of our camps. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Tenhagen at WSD_SummerCamps@windhamsd.org. All registrations are due by June 5th.

We appreciate all of the students’ hard work and time to participate in this opportunity. It is a great life experience for each of them and we hope it was beneficial for their future plans. This year, Windham High School had 37 seniors recommended, with 15 submitting resumes, 7 advancing to first-round interviews, 3 reaching the second round, and 1 finalist competing against other regional high schools. Congratulations to Dana McAleer from Windham for being ultimately named the Interview Challenge Champion. Congratulations to all of them!

My PowerHub Tech Tips
To help our parents and guardians feel more comfortable navigating the various PowerSchool products the district uses, the tech department will regularly share support and learning tools in the newsletters. We hope these tech tips, which will include a variety of videos, PDF instructions, deep dives, and quick tips, will help our community become more comfortable using our primary resources: MyPowerHub (The Hub), the PowerSchool Parent Portal, and the PowerSchool Mobile App. Additionally, these resources will be added to our website's Parent Technology Resource Center so you can revisit them at any time.
We are starting with a video overview of MyPowerHub. Click here to launch the video.
This overview highlights the version you access via a web browser. Just as a reminder, our Hub login URL is: https://windhamsd.guardian.powerschool.com/

Free and Reduced Meal Options
We understand that some families may be affected by the upcoming changes to assistance programs beginning November 1, 2025. In the event of a prolonged shutdown, November’s SNAP food benefits may not be issued until federal funding is restored. Families participating in the SNAP program are considered Directly Certified and are unaffected by the shutdown through NSLP. Federal workers who are not being paid or have been laid off and need assistance should complete an application.
We want to remind families that applications for free or reduced price meals are available for any family who wishes to apply. Applications are sent to each household at the beginning of the school year and are available throughout the year at each school cafeteria, at the SAU office, and online.
Student Arrival and Dismissal
The first bell rings at 7:47 a.m., and students are considered tardy after 7:52 a.m. Students are dismissed at 2:17 p.m. All parent pick-up should take place behind the school building. Please do not pick up in front of the building or in the Visitor Parking lot at the front of the school. This causes safety issues in an area where students are walking and buses are operating.
Reporting Absences, Dismissals, and Tardies
We will continue to utilize PickUp Patrol as the preferred method for reporting student tardies, absences, and early dismissals.
Changes can be entered into the system from a smartphone or computer days, weeks, or months in advance, and at any time up until 1:20pm on the day of the change. After 1:50 pm, changes will not be accepted except in the case of an emergency. Such changes can be made via phone directly to the main office. The end of the school day is a busy time, so to ensure the safety of all students, please plan accordingly and limit these exceptions to emergencies only.
Alternatively, you may use the attendance email, whsattendance@windhamsd.org, or call the main WHS line at (603) 845-1558, Option 1.
If you need any assistance with PickUp Patrol, please reach out to Mr. Keshigian (mkeshigian@windhamsd.org).
