Dear Eastlake Learning Community,

Happy Holidays to all our families, scholars, and instructional leaders. I would like to say thank you for your continued support with all the accolades Eastlake continues to receive. Our student body is truly amazing. The photograph that leads our smore message is a highlight from this past Saturday's Mariachi TMEA concert. Musicians from all over El Paso came together to showcase their talents. The music was phenomenal. The Mariachi culture truly brings out every emotion one can imagine. Thank you Mr. Hernandez and Mrs. Cabada for all you do.

As we prepare to close the final MP2 marking period, attendance and grades are extremely important. This week Eastlake will implement a modified bell schedule to help accommodate semester final exams. Tuesday, December 12th and Wednesday, December 13th will be a 90 minute block schedule. Monday, December 11th and Thursday, December 14th will be a regular bell schedule. Friday, December 15th is an early release time at 12:55 pm. Therefore, on Friday, students will only attend periods one through four.

Student tardiness continues to be a major concern first hour of the day. Student loss of credit also continues to be a concern. Please remember, school begins promptly at 8:55 am. Absences that exceed 9 or more for the semester result in loss of credit. It is difficult to see students lose credit with passing grades. We need your support to ensure everyone arrives to school before 8:45 am.

I sincerely appreciate the culture of our school. We have a great learning environment at Eastlake HS with teachers who care for every child. I wish everyone some well deserved rest and relaxation with family and friends. Enjoy time with your kids. I miss my own daughters everyday. It is fun to see them grow and become citizens and college graduates. The memories of them growing up in this learning community established a strong foundation of individuals who contribute to a greater cause.
