PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Friday, September 12th
This has been a VERY busy week at Patton and we would like to THANK YOU for juggling your calendars and participating in so many of our events! The PTA Sponsored Bike Rodeo was a lot of fun on Tuesday and I am so grateful to our PTA for running this event for us! Students did a great job learning the hand signals for turns and stops as well as navigating obstacles, practicing their control, and braking in a panic situation. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard to plan and run this special event. Thank you also to our Community and School Safety Coordinators from the Arlington Heights Police Department who joined our event.
Picture Day went by in a flash on Wednesday and we always love to see the kids dressed for pictures. Many were proud to be wearing their "fancy clothes" and had their camera ready smiles. It was also wonderful to see so many of you at Curriculum Nigh! I hope you enjoyed seeing your child's classroom, meeting their teacher, and learning more about this school year. Hopefully, you were also able to stop by the commons and meet our specials teachers and specialists.
It was also so great to see so many faces at the Back to School Bash last Friday! The weather was perfect, the pizza delicious, and the bubble guy was poppin'! I must extend a huge thank you to Mr. Van Cura for taking on DJ duties and to all the parents who gave their time to ensure the event was a success! From setting up to selling pizza, manning the water station to cleaning up at the end of the night - all of your help was greatly appreciated and these events would not be possible without you! Thank you to the PTA Back to School Bash committee members Ginny Van Cura, Lisa Roberts, and Kelly Fox for all their efforts in making this event so special.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ellie Chin
TRAFFIC TEAM UPDATE (NEW POST!)
Our amazing Traffic Team is still in need of volunteers to help out with both AM and PM traffic duty! If you or someone you know can spare 25 mins at either end of the school day, our traffic team would be incredibly grateful!! If you are interested, please fill out THIS FORM or please email pattontrafficteam@gmail.com.
SAFETY FIRST!
Please ensure that you are using the crosswalk during both drop off and pickup when you are getting to and from the blacktop. We have had a few instances of people not utilizing the crosswalk and it is very dangerous. We have traffic team members available to help you cross so please ensure we are keeping our carline safe and flowing by crossing at the designated crosswalk.
BIKE RODEO
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Bike Rodeo on Tuesday! We had 25 kiddos take part and were so happy to see so many people! We are so grateful to all our parent volunteers and our amazing SROs, Office O'Leary and Officer Regilio, who came out to help teach our Panthers bike and road safety! Thank you for being a part of this amazing and informative event!
ABC/25 FOUNDATION (NEW POST!)
Help our school earn a $2,500 grant by becoming a member of the ABC/25 Foundation. Patton needs just 4 more families to join to meet our goal and receive this grant!
Become a member by October 17th, and your child(ren) will be entered into a drawing to win a ride to school with the Arlington Heights Police Department!

ARTSONIA (2nd POST!)
A Message from Mrs. Maloney, Patton's Art Teacher
Join Artsonia!
Although the majority of artwork made in art class stays at school until the end of the year, you can still keep up to date with your child's projects as they complete them by connecting with their Artsonia account!
Artsonia is a digital portfolio where 2nd-5th grade students post their finished work (Mrs. Maloney takes care of the posting for Kindergarten and 1st!). Third, fourth, and fifth graders also create artist statements to post along with their artwork.
By connecting with their Artsonia account, you can see their artwork, share it with family and friends, and even add compliments! Simply click on the link below and enter code 3TW4K6RN. You will then be prompted to enter your child's name and your email address. Then, as artwork is posted, it will show up on their profile! Please feel free to email Mrs. Maloney at amaloney@sd25.org with any questions you may have.
