💥💫💥BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT: Kelly Cooper 💥💫💥

Valley's first Bulldog Spotlight is dedicated to our newest family member, Kelly Cooper.

Mrs. Cooper joins us from Chilhowie Elementary School, where she has worked for the last three years. This year will be Cooper's fourth year teaching and her first year in 5th grade.

Mrs. Cooper has known she wanted to be an elementary school teacher since she was in the 1st grade. She said the love and care she was giving inspired her to become a teacher, so other students could be treated the same.

Her passion for teaching goes deeper than educating, as she wants each of her students to walk away loving themselves and knowing they can do anything.

"I want them to leave my class at the end of the year feeling loved and having confidence in themselves," said Mrs. Cooper.

She believes that confidence and love grows when you celebrate the smallest of accomplishments.

"I like to give them that recognition and celebrate even the little things," said Cooper.

The thing she is most excited about is building relationships and a family with her new students and team members. She said that from her experience, close communities can foster love and support unlike anywhere else. Cooper said she knows that's what makes Valley so special.

"It's really important to get to know your team and kids. It's how you can truly love and care for your students."

If you see Mrs. Cooper, please give her a warm Valley Bulldog welcome and show her how amazing our school family is.

🎪🎩🎊🎉🐘🎈Lights, Camera, Swing Sets, Rock Wall, LU System... ACTION! 🎪🎩🎊🎉🐘🎈

Valley Institute Elementary School wouldn't be the greatest school on earth without its faculty, staff, students, and families. However, every great show needs some special effects, and boy, does Valley have some new, fun effects.

This summer Valley got some awesome and new showstoppers:

  • Valley's sheds and shelter were all painted Valley blue.
  • The playground has a new swing set installed by the Washington County Public School's amazing maintenance department, so make sure you're swinging for the sky this school year.
  • For all the physical fitness gym lovers, there is the new LU System, which combines tech, exercise, and education.
  • Valley received a facelift called the Beautification Project and now the front of our school looks like a garden oasis thanks to Planters and Designers.
  • The car rider line now has an awning, which will make entering and exiting vehicles safer, especially on those rainy and snowy days.

All these amazing new improvements and we're still not done. We will also be installing a new rock wall in our gymnasium, so stay tuned for an update.

Take a look at our photo gallery of showstoppers that are sure to make this school the Greatest School on Earth!
