What an awesome week at CGHS! We kicked things off with a special treat thanks to our APT, who generously provided an ice cream truck for our students. It was the perfect way to start the week!

Our students brought incredible energy to Spirit Week, showing off their pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wednesday was especially exciting as our volleyball team earned a huge win over Verona at our Dig Pink event! Our students showed up in full force to support the team, and we even had a special appearance from our very own Panther mascot! It was a memorable night filled with school spirit!

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for making this such a great week and showing what CGHS spirit is all about. Go Panthers!

Governor's Educator of the Year Governor's Educator of the Year

Each year, our school district participates in the Governor's Educator of the Year Program. If you know a classroom teacher or educational services professional who is dedicated, inspiring, and making a difference, please take the time to recommend this person for the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program. At this time, we are seeking nominations from our entire school community regarding this prestigious award.

Parents, teachers, students, and community members are encouraged to nominate an outstanding educator, educational services professional, and/or a paraprofessional from CGHS.

  • Must have the latest summative rating of at least effective; if the teacher or the ESP has not received a summative rating at the time of application, then their most current practice rating should be at least effective or the equivalent

  • Be an expert in the field who inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn

  • Actively collaborate with colleagues, students, and families to create a strong culture of respect and success

  • Demonstrate leadership and innovation in educational activities at the school, district, and/or state and national levels that take place both within and outside the school setting

  • Have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues

Visit to the Apple Store! Visit to the Apple Store!

On Friday, October 9th, Mrs. Parks' class visited the Apple Store at Willowbrook Mall for an interactive photography workshop focused on mastering the iPhone camera. During the 60-minute session, students experimented with hands-on photography techniques—learning how to frame a shot, test out creative features, and utilize built-in editing tools through a series of fun activities. Students brought their own devices or were provided one by the Apple Store to participate fully in the experience.
