Student Video Contest!
My name is Franki Moscato (girl, 23, Oshkosh). I am “that Wisconsin girl” who won a Gold Ticket on ABC’s American Idol. Perhaps you’ve seen me sing the Anthem for the Packers (5), Bucks (7), NASCAR (1), or Whitehouse (2). I am writing to ask you for help communicating a project I am working on to fight teen suicide.
My story includes being bullied out of two schools and finding myself in a dark place. Today, I use my platform and my non-profit, Franki Moscato Foundation, to advocate for teen suicide prevention.
I am inviting Wisconsin students in grades 6-12 to make a 60-second video about being kind, anti-bullying, or somehow preventing teen suicide. See my contest here: http://BeKindContest.com
Video submissions are due by November 1st. We have to hurry! The winning video will be professionally produced and broadcast as a televised Public Service Announcement across Wisconsin. The kids and adults who worked on the project will be invited to be cast in the production spot, and the author’s parents will win a FunJet vacation to the Dominican Republic!
Not Feeling Well?
If you are not feeling well, you need to come to the office and we will call a parent FOR you. Per the student handbook as well as the cell phone policy, "Students are not to use telephones to call parents to receive permission to leave school. Office personnel will initiate all calls on behalf of a student seeking permission to leave school."
Spanish Club
Spanish Club: Spanish Club dues need to be turned into Mrs. Kennedy by Wednesday, September 17. Remember, if you want to be a Spanish Club officer, email Mrs. Kennedy to get your name on the ballot. Also, there is NOT a waiver that needs to be signed anymore.
Home Alone/ Babysitting Class
Saturday, October 4th the Omro Area Community Center, in cooperation with the American Heart Association is hosting a Home Alone/ Babysitting Class that is open to all students ages 10 and older. Click for the Registration form , or they can be picked up at the community center and are due by September 30th. The day would consist of 1/2 babysitting class and the other 1/2 would be learning CPR and will go from 8:00am-3:45pm. Cost is $75. If you have any questions, please feel free to call OACC at 920-685-0380 for more information!
Visiting the Trainer
Students, if you would like to visit the trainer, or if your coach requests you see him for taping, you must do it during FOX TIME and you MUST come down to the office for a pass first. You need to make sure you are starting off in your Fox Time so your teacher can take attendance, and then you will be able to go down to see the trainer. Students who have games or matches that night will take priority as there are often more students there at one time, but we will try to work with everyone as best we can.

- You should NOT have your phones on you, or on your desk during classtime. You have 2 options: in your locker powered off, or in the wall pouches in the classroom; that's it.
- "Bell to Bell" means "Bell to Bell". Cellphones should not be picked up until you are leaving the classroom at the end of class.
- These expectations are NOT negotiable and are backed by the school board. Let's make sure we are following these expectations to avoid consequences that will follow, including but not limited to verbal warning, confiscation and detention/suspension.
