Rain and Lightning Procedures
It's gameday, Germantown!
We are excited for the second of five straight games in September/October! We will be supporting our football team at the game tonight, and we're excited to do so!!
Rain is likely. Woodwinds having instruments outside will be a gametime decision. Front ensemble will not roll out due to the risk of instrument damage, which means we will not perform at halftime. Students will have break during halftime like last week. All other information (call time/etc.) remains the same. Find a copy below.
Lightning is possible. In the event of lightning within 10 miles of the stadium, a TSSAA lightning delay will be triggered. Lightning delays last 30 minutes after the most recent strike within 10 miles. We will wait out storms and return to stands if a lightning delay occurs.
We have ponchos for students. Students are also permitted to bring whatever other weather-friendly clothing they'd like, as long as it is red/white/blue/black.

Find important information for our 9/11/26 game v. Tupelo below:
- KICKOFF is at 7pm. Spectators should arrive early for pregame festivities and to get a seat.
- CALL TIME for band students is 5:30pm.
- DRESS is USA. Please be mindful of the high temperatures when planning your outfit. Wear red, white, and blue. Please remember that we need to be able to march in these clothes.
- PICKUP is no later than 30 minutes after the game concludes. That is long enough time to get to the high school from the Mississippi river. Please plan your evening accordingly, so band staff can get home to their families.
- EARLY DISMISSAL from football games is not permitted unless approved prior to the game by Mr. Carpenter. This enables us to more safely keep track of all students and maintain the level of excellence our band is known for.
- EXPECTATIONS are clearly set around football games from both our school and band. Behave as you would if an assistant principal were standing next to you, and you will be okay! Representing our band at football games is a privilege, not a right.
LASTLY, two other reminders:
- Spring Trip deposits are due NEXT WEEK. Make sure you make your deposit ASAP if you intend to travel with us. We can't wait to march through Magic Kingdom!
- Mini camp begins at 8am tomorrow!
