Large Tree Debris Pickup Continues Through July 1 Large Tree Debris Pickup Continues Through July 1

Collection of storm debris continues in Sunnyvale, utilizing both Republic Services and temporary assistance from DRC Emergency Services. Through June 17, a total of 10,496 cubic yards of green waste have been removed from Sunnyvale streets and alleys by DRC, Republic Services, and the Town of Sunnyvale Public Works and Parks Departments. This storm debris pick-up service will last through Monday, July 1. After that point, only small storm debris piles will be picked up by Republic Services as part of the regular Tuesday/Friday service that requires items to be bundled following Republic Services' bundle rule.

DRC will continue to pick up large debris from damaged trees and other green waste. During this time, property owners are not required to bundle these items but are asked to keep them separate from other bulk waste items. DRC will be using a large claw truck to collect large piles of limbs and stumps at the curb. Please ensure that debris is placed away from vehicles, mailboxes, fire hydrants, and water meters to avoid damage to those items during pickup operations. Citizens will need to separate fence pieces from tree debris piles, as the Mesquite Composting Landfill will not accept treated wood found in wood fencing. The wood fence pieces will need to be cut into four-foot sections for Republic Services to pick them up. If fence pieces cannot be cut into four-foot sections, please call 972-203-4165 to coordinate disposal.

If you have questions in the meantime, please contact the Town of Sunnyvale at 972-203-0325.
