7th Grade News, March 31
From the desk of Chris Howell, 7th Grade Principal
With spring break complete, I hope everyone had a chance to relax and refresh themselves for the last push of the school year.
Quick Announcements
- Yearbook deadline extended!!! Get your yearbooks. Your last chance is this week.
- We kindly request that you refrain from using the staff parking lot during arrival and dismissal times for dropping off or picking up your students. Utilizing this area can impede access for buses and staff entering the parking lot, and it raises safety concerns for all students.
Thank you everyone. Have a wonderful week.
ELECTRIFY YOUR SYMPHONY - SATURDAY, APRIL 12
The Strongsville City Schools Orchestra Directors are excited to announce another amazing performance experience for our string orchestra program on Saturday, April 12. Electrify Your Symphony (EYS) is a music education phenomenon that FIRES UP students, teachers, and local communities by injecting a high voltage dose of energy and much-needed funding into a school’s music education program. This intensive experience boosts student self-esteem and motivation, increases school-wide, family and community engagement, and helps raise money for participating schools. Created by international recording artist, electric violinist, and music education advocate Mark Wood, EYS accomplishes this by having a team of teaching artists work with music students to put on real life, real world rock concert, with ticket sales directly benefiting the participating music departments. Tell your neighbors, family and friends about this awesome event being held in our Strongsville High School Auditorium on Saturday, April 12, with performances at 3:00pm & 7:00pm!

Start with Hello Week - Future Event
The week of April 21-25th we’re celebrating Start With Hello, a special time to focus on kindness, connection, and building a welcoming school community! Each day, students will have simple ways to practice including others, making new friends, and spreading positivity. We encourage families/guardians to talk with their students about small ways to make a big difference—like saying hello, inviting someone new to join in, or offering a kind word. Let’s make our school a place where everyone feels seen and valued!
PBIS Survey
Dear SMS Families,
We would like to learn about how you feel about your student's school. Please take a few moments to complete this SMS School Climate Survey to help us. We will use your answers to find ways we can improve our school. You do not have to answer all of the questions. The survey is anonymous - nobody will know that your answers came from you. We appreciate you taking the time to fill this out.
Additionally, we will be asking students to complete a similar survey to understand how they feel about their school. If you do not want your student to participate, please complete THIS FORM, send it back to school and ask your student to return it to the second floor office.
STRONG
At the beginning of this quarter, Strongsville Middle School has retired our PBIS PRIDE montra and have adopted STRONG. While the most of the elementary schools are still using PRIDE, we decided to join the high school with STRONG.
