A message from the Scott Elementary Administrators

December Themed Days
In December we will have themed dress up days for anyone that would like to participate! We wanted to share those days with you early in case you needed time to plan them out.
Scott Elementary Family Traditions
Your student will be bringing home a writing prompt this week! We encourage you to participate as a family and turn them in for us to display!
You can print off pictures or draw in the space provided on the writing sheet! Thank you for letting us get to know your families more and encouraging writing outside of school!
You can start turning them in after Thanksgiving Break (Dec. 2nd). We will display them until the next writing spotlight prompt goes out!
Holiday Party Schedule
We are excited to welcome families to attend our holiday parties! Every visitor to campus must sign in at the front office to receive a visitor badge. If you would like to skip the line on party day there will be times available prior to get your sticker printed off early. See the flier attached for all the information!
Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is exploding with missing items! Please have your children take time to look and see if they are missing a jacket, water bottle, or lunchbox! We will be donating them at Christmas time!
Nurse's Nook
Here are some important reminders from our amazing nurse!
Recipe Idea
With many kids experiencing some type of illness, Nurse McGrath wanted to share out a recipe with our families!
Science Fair Workshop
Be sure to mark your calendar for our last workshop on Thursday, December 5 from 6:00-6:30pm. Also, please visit our science fair website. On this site, you will find helpful information about important dates along with the student handbook.
PTO News
Meeting Dates
5:30pm
December 12,
January 9, February 13, March 7, April 11, May 6
When the PTO gets involved, children benefit. When YOU get involved with the PTO, the child who benefits most is YOURS.
Your PTO dollars are spent supporting our students and teachers! Our $5 Family Memberships are vital to our yearly income and programs for our students. A few things that our $5 Family Memberships go towards are:
Teacher Classroom Requests
Field Day Activities
Camp Grady Spruce Sponsorships
Spring program for our students
Enrichment p grades K-5
Staff appreciation
For memberships purchased and donations made by December 1, we will be offering a special incentive! The classroom with the highest memberships purchased in ratio to the number of student, that teacher will be rewarded with a very fun prize.
Attendance Procedures
3 days unexcused absence - parents will have to sign an attendance contract
7 days unexcused absence - parents will have to attend an attendance committee meeting
10 days unexcused absence - truancy will be filed with the county
Please send in those notes so that we can get those unexcused absences changed to excused! At this age attendance is not a student responsibility but a parent responsibility so please ensure your children are at school when they are healthy!
