Meet Your Counselors
Tynisha Hinton; 6th Grade Counselor
Hi there, and welcome to JBMS!
I’m Mrs. Hinton, your 6th grade school counselor. I have been fortunate to serve students and families in Fort Bend ISD for more than 15 years. During that time, I have worked as an elementary teacher, an elementary school counselor, and now a middle school counselor.
Outside of school, I’m a wife, a proud mom of two, and a bonus mom to two wonderful girls. When I’m not at JBMS, you can usually find me cooking something delicious, working on a craft project, or spending time with my family.
Supporting students’ emotional well-being and advocating for children is more than just my job. It is truly my passion. I’m excited to get to know you, support you, and be part of your JBMS journey!

Danna Mitchell; 8th Grade/Lead Counselor
Greetings, Bears! My name is Mrs. Mitchell, and I’m so excited to welcome you to a brand-new school year!
This is my 19th year in education and my 9th year as a school counselor. Before joining the Bear family last year, I spent 10 wonderful years teaching middle school Science and coaching. My journey as a counselor began at Hunters Glen Elementary, and I’ve since had the privilege of supporting students at George Bush High School and Lamar Consolidated High School.
When I’m away from work, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family. You can also find me cheering on football games with my husband—we’re big fans!
Whether you’re new to the Bear family or returning for another great year, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s make this year one to remember!

Stephanie Young; Counselor Clerk
Hello, My name is Mrs. Stephanie Young. I attended Central Missouri State University in Missouri. I have a Bachelors Degree in Broadcasting and Film. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 26 years. We have 4 children (3 Boys and 1 Girl) My 3 oldest children went to college and play college soccer. My youngest son is a just graduated this past year and plans to also play soccer in college. We now spend our time figuring out how to be empty-nesters, laughing and talking with friends and family with all the free time we have now.
For 11 years I was a substitute teacher/paraeducator in Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas and Texas. We moved to Sugar Land from Kansas City in Jan. 2020 at the start of Covid lockdown. It was very uncertain time so when all felt safe again I substitute teaching with FBISD. In 2023 I joined the Bowie Bear family as a Counselor’s Secretary. This will be my 4th year in this position. I love welcoming and helping all the Staff, Families and Student Bowie Bears that come to our school each and every day.
