Evergreen Middle School
October 19, 2026
Message from Principal Maria
Grizzly Families,
We had a great time celebrating 82 Grizzlies who have had ZERO tardies so far this school year! Our scholars enjoyed a special No Tardy Party with snacks, prizes, and certificates. We are so proud of our students for showing up on time and ready to learn!
This Friday, October 23rd, our 8th graders will take the PSAT. The PSAT is an assessment that measures reading, writing, and math skills and helps students identify their strengths and areas for growth as they prepare for high school and beyond. Please help your scholar get a good night's sleep, arrive on time, and come ready to do their best!
Thank you for your continued support,
Thank you,
Denise Maria (she/her)

Attend Life After High School, October 21
Evergreen Middle School scholars and family, please join middle and high school scholars from across the district at the annual Life After High School College and Career Fair on Wednesday, October 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Todd Beamer High School.
It’s never too early to explore options for after high school. At the event, scholars will have a chance to explore college and career options from various booths representing two- and four-year colleges and universities, apprenticeship programs, military academies, and trade schools. In addition, there will be several workshops and information sessions available that will help scholars make informed decisions, including:
Apprenticeship Panel: Exploring a Career in the Trades
The Key to Crafting a Personal Statement
Private Colleges are Affordable
NCAA and Playing Sports in College
HBCU Panel: The Historically Black College Experience
Understanding the Differences Between 2- and 4-Year Colleges
There will also be High School and Beyond Plan and Financial Aid application support during the night.
Please visit www.fwps.org/LAHS to learn more.
Digital Citizenship Week: October 19-23
October 19-23 is Digital Citizenship Week, a time to highlight the skills students need to navigate technology safely, responsibly, and thoughtfully.
Across FWPS, digital citizenship is embedded into learning experiences at all grade levels throughout the school year. From evaluating online information and managing screen time to understanding artificial intelligence and maintaining healthy online relationships, students develop the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Digital Citizenship Week aligns with our commitment to fostering safe, welcoming learning environments and supporting student well-being. Throughout the week, FWPS will share resources, tips, and information through district social media channels and a dedicated family communication to support conversations about digital citizenship at home.
