You do not need to fill out any forms - you are on our list and will receive a call slip during one of your classes on September 23 with instructions for getting your picture taken.

If you've lost your student ID card, please check with the Tower front desk receptionist to see if it has been recovered. If your ID card is not at the front desk, your parent/guardian will need to purchase a new one at myschoolbucks.com. You will not need to have your picture retaken.

Retakes: All available time slots for upcoming picture retakes have now been completely filled. We are no longer accepting new reservation requests or additions to the schedule at this time.

PEER TUTOR SIGN-UPS

Applications for students wishing to volunteer as peer tutors this year are now in Google Classroom (code: gbrmqucx). If you are interested in working with a student, carefully read the instructions and expectations for peer tutors in the Google Classroom. When you have done this, please complete and submit the application form as soon as possible. Once you have submitted your application, Ms. Davies will contact your reference teachers to confirm your ability to tutor. We hope to start sending out peer tutor and tutee matches in the next few weeks. Tutors may apply to join the program at any time during the year, but please note you will be matched with an appropriate student as the need arises, so please be patient. All time confirmed by OCSA as a peer tutor may be counted towards service hours, CSF, and NHS.

Please contact maggie.davies@ocsarts.net if you have any questions about the peer tutoring program at OCSA.

NEUROSCIENCE OPPORTUNITY AT UC IRVINE

What if memories weren’t just something you recall, but something scientists can actually reshape? Join us for the 4th Annual McGaugh-Gerard Lecture on Learning and Memory by Dr. Steve Ramirez, revealing how memories are formed, stored, and even modified in the brain. In this talk, you’ll learn:

• The recent advances in modulating cells processing specific memories in the context of healthy and psychiatric disease-like states.

• How researchers can lastingly modulate neural circuits to influence a range of both healthy and maladaptive neurobehavioral states.

• Novel avenues for molecular, circuit, and systems-wide interrogation of the physical basis of memory in the brain.
