Dear McKelvey Primary Families,
It is hard to believe October is almost here! There is a lot of information in this newsletter, so please be sure to check it all out. These full weeks of school have really helped students get into their routines and it has been a great couple of weeks!
As always, please reach out if you need anything.
Sincerely,
Dr. Christina Pliske

This is a great service for children who do not have access to a Dentist. Your child may be seen in the school at no cost but you will need to call to verify this at 618-993-8333.
You can register online at the address listed on this form. There will also be a paper form coming home in your child's folder. Again, please call the number listed for any questions regarding coverage and cost.
If you have any questions, please let me know, tsato@parkwayschools.net
The Visiting Nurse's Association (VNA) will be providing flu shots on Wednesday, October 22 from 9:15am-10:30am for any Primary students interested in receiving them at school. Please see the attached form to fill out and send back to me via backpack mail by October 15. This form must be filled out completely and returned to me in order to receive the flu vaccine.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 314-415-5036 or tsato@parkwayschools.net
This year we will be have a special event for your student and a special grown up. You MUST RSVP in order to attend so that we can order the correct amount of donuts. Please use this link to RSVP. I also linked it on the button below.
Only ONE adult/student please and NO SIBLINGS.
When: October 31st 8:00-8:45am
Where: McKelvey Primary Cafeteria (Donuts); Library (Book Fair)
Things to Know: Come to the cafe for a donut and special one-on-one time with your student. Then head to the library to shop at the book fair. By 8:45, we ask that you drop your student off in the gym where we will have staff supervising your child, and then head out to your cars from the gym doors. Be careful exiting the lot since arrival will begin at that time.
Below is a link to our district calendar (click the blue button) as well as a snapshot of the half and no school days throughout the year. We know unplanned absences will occur, but your child's attendance is extremely important. We miss them when they are gone and they miss important learning and social interaction when they are not at school. If possible, when planning for appointments and/or vacations, please attempt to use the afternoons of half days or days off school throughout the year.
This must be done yearly!
If you are in need of assistance with breakfast or lunch money, please complete the Free and Reduced lunch process. This must be done EVERY Year.

School breakfast and lunch menus can be found here. You can deposit money into your student's account at My School Bucks.
