JASMYNN'S VOICE
This past Wednesday, our students had the incredible opportunity to learn from Jasmynn Archer and her mother, Melissa Archer. Melissa is the author of the inspiring book, Let Me Be Me, which beautifully illustrates Jasmynn's unique perspective on the world, with stunning illustrations by Jasmynn's sister.
During the assembly, Melissa shared Jasmynn's story, allowing students to gain insight into how she views life as a person living with autism. Following the presentation, students eagerly participated in a Q&A session, asking thoughtful and engaging questions that showcased their curiosity and empathy.
It was heartwarming to witness nearly 400 elementary students displaying such exemplary behavior during the assembly. Their attentiveness and respect made this gathering truly special.
At the conclusion of the event, we recognized students from each grade for their outstanding contributions as Compassionate Peers. These remarkable individuals have gone above and beyond to assist their classmates, especially those facing challenges. As a token of appreciation, they each received an autographed copy of Melissa's book, inspiring them to continue their compassionate efforts.
Jasmynn's Voice 13th Annual Golf Outing
Jasmynn's Voice is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing communication between individuals with autism and other communication challenges. The organization has played a vital role in providing iPads and other essential communication devices. Their ongoing efforts continue to benefit students in our school and throughout the county. Your children have likely interacted with or supported the recipients of these resources. If you're interested in contributing, there are opportunities to get involved in the golf outing listed below.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS
FRI - MAY 9 - SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY

THU - APR 31 - MEC POWERLINE SAFETY DEMONSTRATION
This Wednesday, Midwest Energy and Communications (MEC) Linemen will be teaching our fourth graders about the dangers of electricity with a powerline safety demonstration. As part of the program, MEC sponsors a poster contest, where students will have the opportunity to create a poster that illustrates something they learned. The winner of the contest will have their poster placed on billboards around the county, an Amazon gift card, and classroom pizza party.
Two overall winners are selected—one from southwest Michigan, and one from southeast Michigan. Their messages get shared on billboards with the greater community. The winners also get a pizza party for their classroom, and their teachers receive an Amazon gift card for classroom supplies.
