Good People,

Next week is the last week of school so this will be our last newsletter until mid-August! As we wrap up the school year, we want to take a moment to celebrate all the growth, learning, and memories we've shared. This year has been filled with challenges, achievements, and milestones—from exciting class projects to unforgettable field trips and lasting friendships. To our 8th graders, we wish you all the best as you begin your high school journey. To everyone returning next year, we look forward to another amazing school year together. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this year one to remember. Have a safe, fun, and restful summer!

This year many caregivers and community members have volunteered their time and talents to the benefit of our school community. We are grateful for you!

Also check out our new mosaic near door 12! It was made by our own students in Mr. Pilon's advisory and a parent volunteer. It highlights the IB MYP Learner Profile.

8th Grade Promotion Information 8th Grade Promotion Information

  • Students arrive at school at the regular time and go to advisory as usual, after promotion they are welcome to go home with you
  • Students were given two tickets during school for families; if your student needs an extra ticket, please have them see Ms. Otis - please know that with 230 students, staff and 2 tickets per person we really don't have more space for all your family.
  • Families will start entering around 9:30am at door 12 - must have tickets!
  • Students will sit in the auditorium by last name with last names A-L on the left side as you look at the stage and K-Z on the right. Our EL learners will all be on the left side and our Explorers learners will all be on the right.
  • After the ceremony, the PTA invites all families to a reception in the courtyard with cookies, cupcakes and lemonade.
  • All students will be given a certificate of completion in the courtyard.

Quarter 4 Report Card Mailing Opt-out Quarter 4 Report Card Mailing Opt-out

Did you know that you can view your student’s report card at any time in Infinite Campus via the Parent Portal? Sanford is participating in a pilot for Quarter 4 giving you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving a report card via USPS to your student’s primary address, saving the district resources.

We are testing the opt-out process this spring with the goal of giving all MPS families the opportunity to opt-out of a USPS-delivered report card.

If you are interested in waiving your USPS-delivered report card to your student’s primary address for Quarter 4 this spring, please open the Infinite Campus Portal and look for the document titled Sanford USPS Report Card opt-out.

Be aware that if you have students at multiple schools, you will still receive a report card in the mail for your other children. Only Sanford is participating in the pilot. In addition, this is a pilot for SY24-25 Quarter 4 only. If our pilot is successful, you will need to opt-out again next year.

Parent Teacher Association Parent Teacher Association

The Sanford PTA would like to thank everyone for their contributions in our second full year as a PTA! We had many successes thanks to your generous support. Take a look and consider joining the PTA!

Volunteers needed for 8th Grade Promotion!

We'd love some volunteers from the 6th and 7th Grade families to help us honor our 8th grade kiddos who are moving on to High School! Please review the available slots to sign up.
