The Weekly Update Aledo HS
Campus Newsletter
Volume 3, Issue 7 September 8, 2026
We are now in the fifth week of the grading period, which means next week is the final week before our 6-week grade check!
Make sure you are taking advantage of your teachers as a resource. FLEX is a great opportunity to get extra help, ask questions, or get caught up on assignments.
Students will receive an email each week with their FLEX schedule. If you have not been tagged by a teacher, you may choose a classroom to attend during FLEX. Use this time wisely and make sure you are doing everything you can to finish the grading period strong!
Addressing chronic absence is a key component of improving graduation rates, increasing academic achievement and giving young people the best chance at success in their adult life.
Every Day. All Day. 97% Attendance goal for 2027.
LEAD
Celebrating Our Aledo LEADS Bearcats!
Today, we are proud to highlight students who were nominated by their teachers or staff members for demonstrating what it means to be a Learner, Empathetic, Accountable, or Dedicated Bearcat.
These students are making a positive impact on our campus through the way they approach their learning, support others, take ownership of their actions, and give their best effort each day. Their actions represent the kind of character we want to see throughout the Aledo community.
Please join us in congratulating and celebrating these outstanding students for being great examples of Aledo LEADS!
Campus Clubs and Organizations
Clubs and Organizations Parent Consent Form
In accordance with Senate Bill 12 passed by the 89th Texas Legislature, school districts are required to obtain written parental consent before allowing a student to participate in a school-sponsored club or organization.
Please review the list of clubs and organizations at your child's school and indicate your consent below. A separate form will need to be completed for each student.

The Go Center is back up and running!
The Bound for Success program is a partnership between UTA and Aledo ISD where a dedicated College and Career coach works on our campus 2 days per week. When here, they will be working with students on college applications, financial aid, and so much more. While they do work for UTA, they can partner with you to help you with any college or technical school application to ensure you have the support you need. These partners have a wealth of knowledge in post-secondary planning and will work with our Counseling Team to bring another layer of service and support for our AHS students!
Students can request to see them by scanning the BFS QR code on their door outside of the Library!
Parents and students may send the reps an email or schedule a virtual meeting here: https://appt.link/kattya-cepedas-meetings-m6kqjxvh

Kattya and Mariska are back this year and ready to assist you in the AHS Go Center! Kattya will be here on Thursdays and Mariska will be here on Mondays in Room 1118!

Attention Students and Parents:
The Aledo ISD Police Department is having continued issues with students striking other vehicles in the parking lots of our campuses AND not making proper effort to contact the operator or owner of the other vehicle. Texas law requires an operator to make every effort to contact the other vehicle’s owner or operator (See Texas Transportation Code Chapter 550). At the beginning of the year, all students were reminded of this legal responsibility in our student seminars.
We want to remind our student drivers of the potential consequences of this which include arrest, prosecution, school discipline, and/or a loss of driving privileges.
If a student strikes another vehicle and cannot locate the other driver or owner, the student can notify and leave their information with the school front office or the campus police officer.
We understand accidents happen, especially with this many new drivers in one area. However, in the interest of student safety and protecting our student’s and parent’s property, students will face consequences for not complying with Texas Transportation Code Chapter 550. Please educate your students and help us as we teach them good citizenship.
Please contact your Aledo ISD Police Officers with any questions.

Student IDs
At Aledo High School, the safety and security of our students, staff, and families is always a top priority. One way we strengthen campus safety is by requiring all students to wear their school-issued ID badge whenever they are on school property during the school day.
Students received their ID badges during Bearcats Are Back. If your student did not receive their ID, they can pick it up in the cafeteria during their assigned lunch.
Please help us reinforce this important safety expectation by reminding your Bearcat to wear their ID badge around their neck and keep it visible at all times while on campus.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure campus for all of our Bearcats!
