KIA ORA VOGELTOWN WHĀNAU! KIA ORA VOGELTOWN WHĀNAU!

zoom_out_map

Very recently we have had to deal with various incidents of vandalism at the school, people on classroom roofs, and attempts to light fires. Trying to sort this out requires a significant investment of time and money which gets in the way of daily operations and learning. To help us keep our school environment safe and welcoming for all, we need your assistance in keeping an eye on the school grounds, particularly outside of school hours.

If you are nearby and notice anything unusual, please report it to the Police and message the school office. Your vigilance will make a big difference in maintaining the lovely environment we have here for our children.

Additionally, we remind everyone to keep dogs off the school grounds to ensure the safety and cleanliness of our space.

Thank you for your help and have a great weekend together!

ANNOUNCEMENT - NATHAN RANSFIELD ANNOUNCEMENT - NATHAN RANSFIELD

It is with regret that I advise that Nathan Ransfield has resigned from Vogeltown School. Nathan has accepted a position with Highlands Intermediate and will be finishing with us at the end of this year.

Nathan started with us back in 2014 and has made a huge impact in all areas of our school and wider community. His leadership skills, expert teaching and curriculum knowledge, strong relationships, fun personality, and go forward attitude will be greatly missed! We wish him the very best in his new role, with the silver lining to this being he'll be there to help all of our Vogeltown students settle into the next chapter of their schooling.

We are in the process of recruiting a replacement teacher and will advise our school community when this process is completed.

We had a great Home and School Committee meeting this week. Our calendar art is all ready to be ordered - your child will be bringing a form home next week with all the information needed to place an order. There are calendars, cards, diaries, mouse mats and sketch pads available - these make great Christmas presents! Orders need to be placed by Monday 11th November to ensure these arrive in time for Christmas.

Our next pizza day is on Wednesday 13th November - you can place your orders through Kindo now.

We are also doing a Cookie Time Christmas bucket fundraiser - these can also be ordered through Kindo now.

Thank you for your support!

SUMMER SOCCER 2024 SUMMER SOCCER 2024

Our amazing sports coordinator, Michelle Sleep, took these great shots down at summer soccer this week. A big thanks to all the parents that have volunteered to coach teams - we can't enter teams without your support. You don't have to be an expert to coach a team - enthusiasm and patience are what we need, so don't be afraid to give coaching a go!

Our Year 5 road patrollers have been trained and are now ready to take responsibility for getting people safely across the road. Many thanks to all of the children who volunteered and to our parents who support them each morning and afternoon.

If you have some free time and can help supervise the pedestrian crossing, then just leave your details at the school office and we'll be in touch.

HATS IN TERM 4 HATS IN TERM 4

zoom_out_map

It's now that time of year when our tamariki need protection from the sun's harmful rays - bucket hats must be worn every day during Term 4. We have the famous Vogeltown School bucket hats for sale at the senior office for $20 each, but any bucket hat can be worn. Children not wearing a hat will need to remain in a shaded area during break times. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
