Hello! Ms.Grillo is excited to host our second Family Library Checkout Week at Murchison for the week before Spring Break! This will be a time where adults can visit the library with their MES students and pick out books together! Adults will each be able to pick out up to 5 additional library books and check them out under their account. If you joined in the fall, no need to do anything but show up! If you didn't in the fall, you must fill out the following form in order to create your MES library card and attend: https://forms.gle/gAg87Hhz6V9JDoS56

The time will be 7:05-7:30 before school starts. All students with adults may enter through the library outside door (Door 2). No need to badge in at the front. Adults will be asked to leave through that door as well, and students will go to class when the bell rings.

Family checkout week will be by last name during the week before Spring Break as follows:

Last Names A-F: Monday, March 10th

Last Names G-L: Tuesday, March 11th

Last Names M-R: Wednesday, March 12th

Last Names S-Z: Thursday, March 13th

Books can be returned after spring break, either directly from your student, or placed on the cart that will be placed at the front foyer of the school.

Have any books lying around your students aren't reading anymore? Our book vending machine (lovingly named Inchy) is in need of new books! Please bring any new or excellent condition paperback books during Family Checkout week. Books will be placed in our library's vending machine for student birthdays and rewards! Thank you in advance from the library!

25 Years of Murchison Field Day

March 14, 2025

We would like to invite you to join your child as they travel through 25 years of Murchison field day. The stations are significant events that have happened between the years 2000-2025. The students will participate in 18 different stations ranging from Quidditch, landing a plane on the Hudson, Icemageddon, and the Friends Finale, to name a few. This field day has been so much fun to plan and teach the kids about the different events. While we welcome you and your family to come watch, we ask that you not participate in our activities. The playground and basketball court will be closed for field day activities only that day. Due to liability, we can only have our students participate in field day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

• Please check in at the front foyer and have the visitor tag visible on your upper body.

• If you would like to check your student out after their field day time, their teacher will have a sign-out form. No check outs in the office from 11:00am-11:20 am or after 2:00pm.

• If you have siblings in the school, we kindly ask that they stay in their classes when it is not their allotted time.

We want to thank Lone Star Circle of Care, K&A Grooming, State Farm with Will Deaton, West Pecan Coffee, BBQ Fiends, Healthy Kids Running, New York Life with Rick Gonnzales, Sacrifice Training with Traci Young, DJ Mondo, Dash of Glitter, and our PTO for sponsoring our field day. With their generous donations we are able to provide shirts for all students and staff and have bouncy houses.

A couple reminders:

• Please put sunscreen on your child before they leave the house. We cannot put sunscreen on our students and due to health concerns we can’t have aerosol sunscreen in the building.

• Students should have tennis shoes on, clothes they can move in, and should be school appropriate. T-Shirts will be handed out in the morning once they come to school.
