Message from Administration
Dear Caregivers,
I am writing to inform you about a situation that occurred at our school today. A student lit a paper towel on fire in one of the bathrooms and threw it on the floor by the toilet. Thanks to the vigilance and quick action of another student who reported the incident immediately, the situation was swiftly resolved. At no point were any students or staffulty in danger. The fire was extinguished in under a minute, and the fire alarm did not activate as the fire was quickly contained.
We want to express our gratitude to the students who exemplified the important principle of “See Something, Say Something.” Their responsible actions ensured the safety of everyone in the building and prevented any escalation of the situation.
Please be assured that the safety of our students and staffulty is our highest priority. While there was no need for an evacuation, we take incidents like this very seriously. Any student who causes disruptions to the school day will be held accountable for their actions in accordance with our policies and guidelines.
We believe in maintaining open communication with our school community and wanted to share this information with you as part of our commitment to transparency.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Sincerely,
Beth McCoy, Principal
