THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THE APRIL MENU THAT WAS SENT OUT.

  • There is school on Friday, April 23.
  • There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, April 26.

Welcome Back!

We are so excited to have more students on campus each day. It is nice to hear the sound of children laughing and enjoying their time together- socially distanced, of course!

Our New Pick up Lanes Our New Pick up Lanes

We appreciate all of the patience as we come up with ways to ease our traffic flow during afternoon pickup. We decided to make some changes to our front parking lot set up to make drop off and pick up after school safer for our students. We now have three official spots for parents to stop at to hopefully load three cars at once.

Spring Fundraising Spring Fundraising

Please be on the lookout for our spring fundraising letter which will be included in your child's report card envelope. Because of COVID, we did not do our annual Fun Walk fundraising campaign. But we are still in desperate need of donations to keep all of our fun student activities and events running like they have done for many years. We tried to make donating simple and reasonable. If you have one child at Hale`iwa, we are asking for a $20.00 donation. If you have more than one child at Hale`iwa, we are asking for $30.00. Of course, if you are unable to donate, we understand. If you are able to give more, we would be grateful.

The "Rainbow Tag" is also included with our spring fundraising letter. If you are able to donate, please complete the rainbow tag and send it back with your donation. We will use the rainbow tags to decorate one of the bulletin boards on campus. Thank you for supporting Hale`iwa Elementary School!

Egg Dash 2021 Egg Dash 2021

This year, we were happy to bring back a modified version of our Egg Dash. Each class was able to go out and pick two eggs filled with fun small prizes and toys. The students and staff all made their bunny ears to wear during the Egg Dash. The pictures below capture the fun everybody had!

Tie dye Entrepreneur: Jeanine Kahalewai-Cabacungan Tie dye Entrepreneur: Jeanine Kahalewai-Cabacungan

Fifth grader Jeanine Kahalewai-Cabacungan was watching videos on YouTube that talked about starting your own business. She told her parents and her mom gave her the idea to start up a tie dye business. Jeanine looked up different things that she would need and went to Walmart to buy supplies.

Now, she is proud of her business. A lot of people comment on liking the shirts she creates for them. Jeanine enjoys making them and is really happy that people are supporting. She even is coming up with a unique logo for her small business.

You can also order your own shirt. You can follow Jeanine on Instagram: @jeaninecabcungan

Hawaiʻi Keiki Dental Sealant Program Hawaiʻi Keiki Dental Sealant Program

This week, we were fortunate to host the Hawaiʻi Keiki Dental Sealant program. Several of our second and third graders were able to get their teeth checked out and have the sealant put on their teeth. Sealants reduce the rate of cavities. We are grateful to all of the volunteers who took time to help our students and we hope to continue this partnership in the future.
