Principal's Newsletter - October 2, 2026 Principal's Newsletter - October 2, 2026

I want to take a moment to share a positive update about our new communication device policy. Our students are doing a great job following the expectations at school, and we appreciate the way they have responded to the changes. Now, I can't claim perfection in our compliance, however students have been responding in a positive way. We know that developing healthy habits around technology is something that happens both at school and at home, so I wanted to share two recommendations for families.

First, consider establishing a cell phone curfew. I highly recommend having phones turned off and put away by around 8:00 p.m. This gives students an opportunity to wind down from the day, step away from notifications and social media, and prepare for a good night's sleep.

Second, consider having phones charge somewhere outside of the bedroom. A central location such as the kitchen or living room can help keep phones away from students while they are sleeping. It also eliminates the temptation to check a phone during the night or stay up later than intended.

These are simple steps, but they can make a meaningful difference in helping our students develop healthy technology habits. We appreciate your partnership as we work together to help our students use technology in ways that support their learning, relationships, and well-being.

Next week is also our final week of the quarter! We will finish the week with Spirit Week and a Spirit Assembly on Friday. It should be a fun way to wrap up the quarter and celebrate our students and school community.
