Issue #12: Tuesday, March 7, 2023 Issue #12: Tuesday, March 7, 2023

March 13-17 is School Support Professionals Week (formerly known as Classified Staff Week)

This tradition started in 1975 to recognize the contributions of Education Support Professionals in the public school system and acknowledge the difference they make in our schools!

More than 340 education support professionals work with and help students throughout the Bremerton School District. These staff members work to maintain school buildings and grounds, provide administrative support, prepare and serve meals, provide safe transportation, keep school facilities clean and safe, promote and support student health and wellness, assist in the classrooms, provide information technology and media services and more.

Saying goodbye to one of Bremerton's big characters, Charlie Buell

Charlie Buell was one of the best teammate you could find and one of the best umpires/referees. He was fun to be around, full of humor, teases, and tricks with cards, an excellent pitcher and catcher and hitter in slowpitch and when he was in a game you knew exciting things were about to happen "He had more one-liners," recalls Ron Burley, who refereed basketball games with Buell.

POULSBO - Chad Nass received sage advice from his wife prior to his speech at Saturday's Kitsap Sports Hall of Fame ceremony at Kiana Lodge. "Stick to your notes. Don't go over your time. And whatever you do, don't try to be funny," said the former South Kitsap High School wrestling coach, a comment which brought about plenty of laughter.
