Family Update
October 9th, 2026
Message from the Principal
If your child plans to enjoy breakfast at school, please remind them to head directly to the cafeteria when they get into the building. We know how tempting it is to walk the halls with friends first, but delaying breakfast is causing some students to be late to homeroom. Heading to the cafeteria first ensures they get a great meal and protect their attendance record! I am aware of the late buses some mornings, of course those students will not be marked tardy, however students who are caught meandering around in the mornings will be marked tardy.
Also, we have seen some recent incident with group chats. While these group chats have occurred outside of school; some of the conversations are entering into the school day causing minor disruptions and leading to school discipline. Please speak with your student about appropriate use of technology, monitor their messages and explain that consequences will follow their actions.

From the Counseling Team
This week's career is an Industrial Engineer.
An industrial engineer designs and improves systems that help people, equipment, and materials work together to make and deliver products. They use math and data to improve workflows, reduce waste, and maintain quality and safety. Industrial engineers typically earn a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field. If you enjoy STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and math) and solving problems, this career may interest you! Check out the links to learn more!

Gifted Info
Each year school districts in Ohio are required to offer an opportunity for students in grades K-12 to be identified as gifted in the area of Visual and Performing Arts. The identified areas of giftedness for Visual and Performing Arts include Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Drama/Theater, and Dance. If you know of a student that may be gifted in an area of the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) and would like for them to be screened for possible gifted identification in that particular area, please complete the Visual and Performing Arts Nomination Form found through this link.
Click here to learn more about the two-phase VPA gifted identification process. Please keep in mind that this evaluation is for identification purposes only. There are no specialized classes offered to students identified as gifted in VPA; however, teachers can use this information to differentiate their lessons.
Please note: Once a student is identified as gifted in one of the Visual and Performing Arts categories (instrumental music, vocal music, dance, visual art, theater/drama), the student is not eligible to go through the nomination process again for the same category.
Nominations will be accepted until Sunday, November 15, 2026, and will only be accepted using the Google link above.
