Are you ready to inspire the next generation of changemakers? Registration is now open for the CU New Venture Challenge (HSNVC) - powered by FirstBank.
The HSNVC is specifically designed to bring entrepreneurial learning and innovative mindsets to high school students across Colorado, with a particular focus on rural, underserved, and 1st generation students. This one-of-a-kind program offers:
- $25,000+ in scholarships to CU Boulder
- Hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and innovation
- Development of critical real-world problem-solving, strategic, and leadership skills
Whether students in your community dream of starting a business, solving world challenges, or excelling in their future vocations - this challenge equips them with the tools, confidence, and mindset to succeed.
This year, we’re expanding our reach across the state, with a particular focus on Boulder and Front Range communities. We’re excited to connect with people in your network, and are looking to identify:
- Students or teams who might be excited to participate
- Educators, administrators, or extracurricular leaders who may be open to integrating this into their programming
The initial registration is easy and all you need is a basic preliminary idea to sign up. It’s open now until Jan 31, 2026. Participants then have until March 25, 2026 to more fully develop the idea and prepare their competition materials (2-page executive summary + 4-minute video pitch).
Let’s work together to inspire the next generation of innovators and create pathways to higher education and workforce success. Thank you for your support in shaping Colorado’s future leaders!

Bright Future Club Food Drive
The Bright Future club is hosting a virtual and physical food drive sponsored by Louisville Community Food Share called “SNAP the Hunger Gap” Because of the recent government shut down, over 600,000 coloradans have been delayed SNAP benefits. You can donate to their online page until November 21st (see donation link at the bottom of email).
Students can earn up to 5 volunteer hours through the donation page. You will receive 1 hour for every person who donates using your shared link. To get credit, the donor must write your name in the comment section as proof. If they do not include your name, you will NOT receive credit.
Students can also receive up to two service projects for every 10 food items donated. The donation bins will be located at B-hall doors and the main entrance. You must have proof that you donated the items. Take a picture of yourself holding the items and send it to Mrs. Hart (jennifer.hart@bvsd.org) and Sena Williams (slwilliams02@bvsd.org) to get credit - no photo = no credit.
Coyotes Feed the Pack
Our school will be organizing a Thanksgiving Food Drive called “Coyotes Feed the Pack.” We’re collecting non-perishable food items to help meet the growing need in our community right now.
The drive will run from Thursday, November 6th through the end of the day on Friday, November 21st. Students should bring items into their first or second period class, or they can be dropped in designated bins located at the front entrance, the main office, the counseling office, or in the hallway on the first floor of the C-Wing. All donations will be delivered to one of our local food banks prior to Thanksgiving.
Items of Need
Canned Fruits and Vegetables
Staples (rice, beans, tortillas, pasta, cereals)
Proteins (canned meats, nut butters)
Ready-To-Eat Meals (soups, stews, chili)
Cooking & Baking (cooking oils, flour, masa, spices)
This effort isn't just about giving food, it’s about showing that our community looks out for one another. Please remember, hunger isn’t always visible; it can live quietly in our neighborhoods.
If you’d like to contribute additional items or volunteer to help with sorting and delivery, please let Dr. Cara Maronek (cara.maronek@bvsd.org) or Jesse Jensen (jesse.jensen@bvsd.org).
Thank you for helping our Coyotes make a difference this holiday season.
