Patriot Family Gazette 9/6/24

Patriot Families,

The first full week of September is behind us and we are gearing up for some great events as we dive deeper into the month. As you may know, September is Attendance Awareness Month as we encourage all of our Leaders to be Responsible, Respectful and Ready to Succeed by being here on time and ready to learn each day. We provide incentives for attendance as well as recognize our Patriots each nine weeks for perfect attendance.

We have some great events on the horizon as well, including our annual Patriot Day Ceremony coming up on September 11th at 9am. We encourage any family members that are current or former first responders or military to attend as they will be recognized and a short reception following the event. This event is student led and highlights our namesake Dr. Bryan C. Jack.

We also have our Leadership Signing Day on September 19th, 20th, and 23rd, as well as our annual Open House event, on September 19th, where our staff will review curriculum, expectations and Leader in Me at our campus.

To wrap up the month we will have our fall book fair September 23rd-27th, culminating with one of our favorite events, Grandfriend's Day on September 27th (see information below).

- Please drop off by 7:50. Our tardy bell rings at that time and we want our Patriots ready to learn with us.

- We cannot release kids after 2:45 due to dismissal procedures. If you have appointments, please make arrangements to pick up by this time.

- If you are dropping off before 7:15, please use the back loop. This area is staffed and students are directed to the cafe or gym. After 7:15, our front loop will be open.

Sharpen the Saw Club is one of our favorite activities that we do for our Leaders here at Jack! This is a chance for our students to explore passions and participate in clubs outside of the regular curriculum that happens day to day. We meet 6-7 times a year and some of the clubs are really creative! We've had pickle ball, golf, LEGOS, robotics and more! Mr. Malone is looking to host a Vintage Gaming Club this year and is looking for donations of "old working TVs." The TVs will need to have the capability to connect to a vintage gaming system with the coaxial cable. If you have one of these vintage TVs sitting in a closet and would like to make a donation please reach out to Justin.Malone@tylerisd.org. Thanks!
