SJC Vision Statement: A Community, Rooted In Faith, Seeking Excellence For All
Principal's Message
As we enter the holy season of Lent, we are invited to reflect, pray, and grow closer to Christ. This is a time of renewal, where we embrace fasting, prayer, and almsgiving to prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. At school, our students will be engaging in Lenten practices such as fundraising, Lenten prayers, and being challenged to fast from something that is important to them to deepen their faith. And, with the arrival of warmer weather, the promise of spring reminds us of God’s ever-present grace.
Along with our Lenten journey, we are approaching Student Centered Conferences. These conversations are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress and discuss ways to support their growth. Please ensure that you sign up to see your child's teachers on March 20 between 3:45 and 8:45 if you would like to discuss your child's progress in their classes.
As we look forward to Easter, may this Lent be a season of grace for your family and may our Lenten journey and parent-teacher partnerships nurture growth, faith, and a renewed spirit in our students, staff, and parents.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. As always, if I can support you or your family at all, please contact me at 403-362-5989 or at aschell@redeemer.ab.ca.
St. Joseph...pray for us.

New High School for CTR Brooks Announced
It is with great excitement that we share the recent announcement of funding for the planning phase of a new Grade 9-12 school in Brooks. This investment marks a significant step forward in addressing the pressing space needs in our division and will greatly benefit the students and families in all of our Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools in Brooks.
We are so appreciative of the provincial government for recognizing our needs and providing us with this opportunity to continue growing our success. Our commitment to providing exceptional learning experiences has resulted in a 95.3% three-year graduation rate at St. Joseph’s Collegiate, even as we serve a majority of students who are new to Canada and learning English for the first time. This recent announcement will support the growth of our shared facility which was at 107% utilization this past September.
The advocacy to share our successes and needs has been a shared approach. We would like to express appreciation to all of our families, staff, and community members who have written letters to our municipal and provincial government regarding our need for additional learning spaces, advocated for the zoning of the old rodeo grounds to support a new school build, and shared the success of our faith-based learning at our Christ The Redeemer Schools in Brooks.
The funding announcement will support the division’s work alongside the province and municipality to plan the next essential phases prior to moving toward design and construction funding. We are confident in the division’s ability to support these next steps.
We will continue to communicate with our families as progress continues. Once again, your support of our schools is so appreciated and instrumental to the success of our schools in the Brooks community.

The survey is open until March 21 and we thank you in advance for completing it. The information in it helps us in planning for the school.
Important Bussing Information
To improve efficiencies, CTR Catholic is moving to an annual bus registration renewal process.
* In March, families will receive a unique link for each current bus rider (except Grade 12) via email from Christ The Redeemer noreply@transfinder.com and contains the legitimate renewal link.
**Your child will be removed from bus service if a renewal form is not received. Changes can still be made after renewal by submitting a Bus Request form online through the parent portal.

MUNICIPAL RATEPAYERS CAN DIRECT TAXES TO CATHOLIC EDUCATION
To show your support for Catholic education in the province, Catholic homeowners (or co-owners) can instruct municipalities to direct their property taxes to the Roman Catholic Separate School District. Ratepayers can visit their local municipality office to inquire about a request for change, if they did not originally declare their taxes to be directed to Catholic Education.
