Message from Ms. Athanson
Greetings,
Thank you students and families for another great week. Thank you to the families that came out for PTA and our Elementary Open House.
Parents, we ask that you leave your carline hang tag up until your student gets in your car. If you need an additional one, please don't hesitate to ask.
Our students in both Elementary and Middle School will be taking the first round of FAST assessments starting on August 31st. As you know, students take three rounds of FAST throughout the year. It is imperative for them to try their best and take their time each time they are given an assessment. Middle school students will need to come with a fully charged computer and their charger.
Families, see the images below for specific dates. Please note that students that have a 504 plan or an IEP that has specific testing accommodations may test on a different day. Their counselor or case manager will notify them of the date of testing.
We have a lot of events and activities this month. Please see below for any item that may pertain to your student:
9/1 - Girls volleyball tryouts at 2:15
9/3 - Boys volleyball tryouts at 2:15
9/8 - Tutoring and Clubs will start
9/7 - 9/18 - NJHS (8th grade only) applications will be accepted. We do not accept any late paperwork
9/9 - 7th / 8th grade Open House @ 5:15
9/11 - Kona Ice
9/15 - SAC @ 5:30 - this meeting will be geared to Middle School and will help parents understand the different technology tools your student uses each day (Canvas, One Note, Edia, etc)
9/21 - PTA @ 5:30 - this meeting will be geared to Elementary School and will help parents understand the different technology tools your student uses each day (Amira, Dreambox, etc)
9/25 - C2C breakfast @ 7:15 - invitations will go out the week prior
9/28 - Picture Day
9/28 - Community Partner Night for meeting credit (see flyer under PTA section)
Starts with Hello week is coming up. We would appreciate any of the following donations to help make this week a success: sidewalk chalk, Hello name tags and poster markers.
Please review the section below for ways to volunteer. We have always had outstanding partnerships with our families within our Elementary and we would like to expand our volunteers to Middle. Reach out to Mrs. Lake if you are interested in volunteering in any capacity.
Thank you
Fundamentals of the carline...
Drop off begins at 7:15. Students may not exit their car until this time. We ask everyone to pull up all the way to avoid gaps in the line and have an efficient and timely process.
Elementary school:
- Elementary students will exit their vehicle in the designated areas
- Students will head to the covered court area and remain supervised until class begins
- If they wish to eat breakfast, there will be students to escort them to the elementary cafe
- If you have a student in elementary and middle, you may choose either line to use and they may walk to their designated areas
Middle school:
- Students may exit their vehicle from the covered walkway by the middle school office all the way to the cafeteria.
- Students will enter the cafeteria and remail in their until the bell rings to release to class at 7:38.
- Students that want breakfast will enter the elementary cafe to eat and then head to the middle school cafe till classes begin.
Pick Up for elementary begins at 1:55 and 2:15 for middle. Parents, we ask that you not arrive prior to 30 minutes of dismissal. Arriving too early blocks the flow of traffic for visitors, deliveries and early dismissal for appointments.
Early release for appointments: Parents, we understand that students need to be released early from time to time for appointments. We ask that if you need to pick up your student, please arrive prior to 30 minutes from dismissal (ex: elementary by 1:25, middle by 1:45). This will allow you to utilize the carline without issue.
