KIA ORA VOGELTOWN WHANAU
A big thank you to our Vogeltown whānau for supporting our cycle skills sessions this week. Our Year 5/6 students have been having a blast learning all about their bikes and road/biking safety. We have one more week of cycle skills to come.
Tomorrow (Friday the 8th of March) is a teacher only day. On this day, our Kaiako/teachers are having Professional Development which will see them spending the day exploring the Numicon maths programme.
It has been great to see an engaged team of learners at Vogeltown this week. When you walk around the classes and chat with the kids, it is so great to hear their enjoyment of learning in class and how keen they are to share their work!
A friendly reminder: We please ask, that parents/extended whānau do not drive down the Junior School driveway to drop off or pick up their child/ren. This is a busy access way and needs to be kept clear for the safety of our tamariki. We appreciate your support with this.
The big news this week has been the announcement of our new Vogeltown Principal Ryves Hunt. We are very excited to welcome Ryves into our Vogeltown Community in Term 2. I have attached a letter of introduction from Ryves in this newsletter, which was sent out on Wednesday afternoon. On behalf of the Vogeltown Staff/Community we would like to say a huge thank you to our Board of Trustees and our teacher Board representative Ms Pretty, for the mahi that has gone into this appointment behind the scenes. Roll on Term 2!
Have a great weekend whanau, enjoy the extra day and enjoy Taranaki Anniversary!

VOGELTOWN SCHOOL FEES/DONATION
A reminder to everyone that we do not ask for a school donation/fee at Vogeltown School. The Vogeltown Board opted in to the Ministry of Education donation scheme for 2024, which means we get paid a donation from the government and we do not ask families to contribute to any 'curriculum related' costs - including transport and events like Life Education.
More information can be found on the Ministry of Education's website.
