Dear IPSD 204 Community,
As our schools and students settle into their routines, it is now time to focus on the support systems upon which many of our schools heavily rely, and that is the parent organizations such as PTAs/PTSAs. At the high school level, it also includes the Athletic Boosters, Band/Chorus/ Orchestra/Theatre/Music Boosters, and PAGES/PATHS/PACES just to name a few.
Our school district is fortunate to have such a strong parent volunteer system at every school. These are the groups that organize classroom parties, school directories, and many of the fun events you and your children look forward to every year. In addition, many of the groups provide funding to enhance student and staff opportunities as well as coordinate Teacher Appreciation events.
Membership dues and donations allow each group to support their school and students every year. I thank everyone who has already joined and encourage anyone who has not yet joined to click on any applicable school organization link at the bottom of my email.
I also encourage you to consider volunteering at your school. Opportunities are available in various capacities. You may also want to consider attending meetings to learn more about what they do for your school and your student. Some of these meetings are in person and some are virtual in order to give parents opportunities to participate.
Our IPSD 204 Strategic Plan places an emphasis on our parent organizations and volunteers. Together, I know that we can make a positive difference. Join today and get involved. Your child sees it, your principal and I see it, and the community sees it. All of us thank you for your support.
