Dear BPE Families-

As we quickly move into the final stretch of the school year, it’s hard to believe that May is just around the corner! We hope your family had a wonderful Spring Break and that last week provided a smooth transition back into school routines.

This week, we are excited to host our PTSA-sponsored Book Fair! Information has been sent home and shared on ClassDojo and our social media pages. We hope your child has the opportunity to explore and enjoy all the great books available.

We would also like to extend a huge congratulations to our 3rd and 4th grade students for their hard work and effort on last week’s ELA state assessments. We are incredibly proud of their dedication! This week, students will be taking the Math state assessment—please see below in the newsletter for specific dates and times.

Last week, we held our April Town Halls where we reviewed our school-wide expectations. Throughout April, we are focusing on the Portrait of a Titan competency: Leadership. Our students are showing that every Titan has a superpower, and we are encouraging them to demonstrate leadership in meaningful ways throughout their school day.

We are also looking forward to an exciting event coming up in May—our school Talent Show! More information will be shared soon, and we can’t wait to celebrate the many talents of our amazing students.

Lastly, I want to share that I continue to work hard on my recovery and hope to be back with our students and staff very soon. Thank you for your continued support and partnership—it means so much to our school community.

Stay in the game Mondays!

Every Monday, starting April 13, for the rest of the school year will be Stay In The Game Mondays! Students and Staff are encouraged to wear your Cleveland Browns gear, orange/brown or if you have a Stay in the Game T-shirt, wear that! Each Monday teachers will nominate one student who consistently demonstrates strong attendacne habits or who has made noteable improvement in their attendance. These students will be entered into a weekly raffle drawing. Thank you for all you do to support positive attendance and attendance improvement.Can no wait to see who our winners will be each Friday!

Dear Families of 3rd and 4th Graders,

Students wil be testing again in the morning this week. It is important that they attend school on time on these days. Please refrain from scheduling any doctor appointments on these days. They have been working hard all year long and this is their opportunity to "show what they know", their "Celebratoin of Knowledge".

April 21 and April 22- Math

Grade 3:

April 23 and April 24- Math

NEW: Under HB 114, signed in December 2025, children must be five years old by the first day of instruction to enroll in kindergarten.
For the 2026–2027 school year, this means turning five on or before August 24, 2026.

Registration may be completed online or by appointment using the registration kiosk at the Berea Board of Education offices, 390 Fair Street, Berea. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 216-898-8300.

Only the custodial parent or legal guardian may officially enroll a student. The custodial parent or legal guardian must complete the application and provide all required signatures.

An active email address is required to complete registration and to receive important updates throughout the school year.

There are two steps required to complete registration. Please review the Directions and Required Documents for Online Registration to prepare for enrolling your child in Berea City Schools.

Online registration and OLR annual updates must be completed on a desktop or laptop computer.

POPCORN changes coming up!

Due to OST testing in April, we will be postponing Popcorn production and sales until May.

It is important that we keep our 3rd and 4th grade students focused throughout the weeks upon our return from Spring Break. Please see the revised schedule below.

Orders are taken on the Thursday prior to the date.

Each bag costs $1.00.

$1.00 is DUE ON THURSDAY

for this grade level…

Thursday April 30- 4th Grade and 2nd Grade popcorn orders will be taken.

Thursday May 7- 1st Grade and Kindergarten popcorn orders will be taken.

Third Graders have GREATLY apprecitated everyone's enthusiasm!

* Popcorn is then popped and delivered on FRIDAY.

**Proceeds are used to replenish supplies as well as donate to charities chosen by students at the end of year.

April - Leadership

Attendance Challenge- Each day a classroom has 100% attendance they receive a baseball to hang on their classroom door. 4 baseballs = 1 run! The classroom per grade with the highest score on April 28 will win a "Baseball Treat"
