WINTER CHEERLEADING

The 2024-25 winter cheerleading season has come to an end. It is time to reflect on the

incredible journey filled with hard work, dedication and unforgettable performances. This

past year showcased the true essence of cheerleading- teamwork, athleticism, and the

power of encouragement.

Our competition team put in an incredible amount of hard work this season. Attending

three competitions, they earned two FIRST PLACE wins as well as a Third-place win at

the Game Day Championships, beating four, very seasoned teams.

This winter cheer season, our cheer program has the incredible opportunity to welcome

three foreign exchange students, enriching our team with diverse cultures, perspectives,

and talents. Their participation, not only, enhanced our routines but also fostered a spirit

of unity and global friendship along our cheerleaders.

As we look forward to the next season, the anticipation is already building. With new

talents entering the scene and seasoned players returning stronger than ever, there’s

no doubt that the upcoming season will be filled with even more spectacular

performances and unforgettable moments. Here’s to celebrating the spirit of

cheerleading and the forever friendships and bonds made.

The health office is thinking spring

The health office has moved. With the new addition now being occupied the health office now has a new home that is much more open and bigger. The health office now has a room that the students and staff can do telehealth appointments in as well as specific rooms for treatment of students and staff. You can now find the new health office around the corner from the main office. To get into the new health office please enter through the door that is located in the lobby area near the new gym.

Please remember when sneezing and coughing to cover your mouth. Also if your student is sick please keep them home. The New Year is also a great time to get back into the habit of making sure that we are getting enough water and staying hydrated. Please remind your student to be carrying a water bottle with them at all times so that they can stay hydrated and healthy. This is a good time to remind everyone to be washing their hands frequently.

With winter here please be sure that your students are wearing proper clothing and footwear for the weather and being cautious when walking and driving in the winter weather. Also, remember that the temperature in the building can be unpredictable as well, and the students are dressed appropriately for unpredictable temperatures in the building.

Reminder students can not carry any medications with them in school. This includes cough drops and over the counter medications like Tylenol, Ibuprofen, vitamins, or supplements. If your student needs to have medication or needs a cough drop, Tylenol or Ibuprofen, they can visit the health room for these medications. Students are not allowed to bring in prescription medication to the health office, according to school policy all medication must be bought in by a parent and guardian and the parent or guardian will need to sign the medication in with the health office.

The health room does not have any allergy/cold medicine. If your child needs allergy/cold medicine please be sure that they are taking it prior to coming to school and that it will last for 8 hours to get the student through the day.

If you have a student that is in 11th grade, please turn in their physical forms to the health office along with an updated immunization form if you have not already done so. Also as a reminder any current 11th graders will need to have their 2nd meningococcal vaccine (MCV)to start the 12th grade. If your student has not had it, please contact your physician office to get the appointment set up to get vaccination so that your student will not miss any time from school.

Did you know that BREAKFAST is FREE for every student in our school district? However, in order to be FREE, students must make sure they are getting a fruit or fruit juice along with their entree item. Is your student unsure about how it works? Send them to the Counseling Office and we will walk them through it OR our awesome Cafeteria Staff can help too.

Does your student qualify for FREE & REDUCED LUNCH? Parents need to re-apply each school year as government guidelines do change yearly. Re-apply within the SchoolCafe app or website.

Stay on top of your student's SchoolCafe account. Do they need more money added or are they in the negative? You can add money via schoolcafe or send a check made out to Littlestown High School with your students name/account number.
