My Purpose and Passion💙

Dear Booker Families, Staff, and Scholars,

We are rocking and rolling at Booker Elementary! Our scholars are focused, our teachers are locked in, and the momentum is strong as we head into the most critical stretch of the year.

With just 6 days until STAAR testing and 21 school days until End-of-Year (EOY) assessments, the finish line is in sight—and we’ve got this!

Every day matters more than ever. Please continue to support your child by ensuring strong attendance, arriving on time, and staying engaged both at school and at home. Encourage them to stay confident, give their best effort, and believe in themselves—we see the growth, and we know they are ready. Let’s keep the energy high, the focus sharp, and the expectations strong. Booker is on the move, and nothing will stop us now!

Together in Culture • Together in Accountability

FUELED BY THE “F” IN FIRE!

💗We Love you, Mrs. Hatten💗

I would like to take a moment to celebrate an incredible individual who is truly my partner in this work. Serving as an administrator for over 700 students and nearly 100 staff members is no small task—but with the right Assistant Principal, it becomes an extraordinary journey. Mrs. Brittani Hatten is simply amazing.

She consistently goes above and beyond for both our scholars and our staff, and she is an invaluable asset to Booker Elementary. Mrs. Hatten’s story is one of commitment, growth, and heart. She began her journey at Booker over 14 years ago as a student teacher, . From there, she grew into a team leader, then a literacy coach, and later advanced within the district. After earning her Educational Leadership certification, she made the intentional decision to return to Booker—to lead, to serve, and to give back to the very community that helped shape her.

Her dedication, leadership, and unwavering belief in our students make a lasting impact every single day. We are incredibly fortunate to have her, and Booker is stronger because of her service.

We are so proud to call her our Assistant Principal.

Join me in Celebrating NATIONAL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL WEEK! Mrs. Hatten, we appreciate you and notice all you do for our community, staff, and students!

Mindset of Mastery – No Mediocre Thinking Allowed

Booker Families, Staff, and Scholars,

As we move closer to our STAAR assessment, we want to truly thank you for a job well done! Our scholars have made tremendous progress and it is now time for them to SHOW WHAT THEY KNOW! Let's encourage every scholar to do their BOOKER BEST on every tests! If we were to take the STAAR at this moment, we would be a “C” rating, with only being 14 students away from a B rated campus! That means that every child counts! That is growth worth celebrating, and we are incredibly proud of our scholars, staff and YOU for the continuous and consisent efforts this year! Attending tutorials, Saturday school, and work demonstrated last semester. But, even the last 6 instructional days matter! So,

Families, please take time to ask your child:

  • How are you doing on your Exit Tickets and Do Nows?

  • How did they do on their last STAAR Blitz Quizzes?

  • Log in to Sirius and let's work some problems together..

  • Log into Writable and let's work some problems together.

  • What are you doing right now to meet your STAAR and EOY goals in Reading, Math, and Science?

The countdown continues:

  • 6 days until STAAR

  • TELPAS IS COMPLETE! GREAT JOB TO OUR ESL AND BILINGUAL STUDENTS AND STAFF!

This work is about more than testing—it is about growth, consistency, and changing outcomes for students. We are definitely on the right track!

GUESS WHO WILLBE MOVING ON UP, SOON? GUESS WHO WILLBE MOVING ON UP, SOON?
