Superintendent's Message
Dear FSD 157-C Families,
We always look forward to the opportunity for our families and staff to come together at our three schools' curriculum nights to plan for the academic year ahead. Our partnership with families is imperative to our mission; there will be considerable learning and growth for our students, and we appreciate your support of our educators and staff. If you're interested in learning more about what is presented at our curriculum nights, you may find our curricular expectation plans outlined on our website: linked here
In addition, district administrators recently presented the 2026-2027 Annual Plan at the August 11, 2026 Board of Education meeting. The Annual Plan is the district's yearly goals aligned to the districtโs overall Strategic Plan. As our partners in your child's education, we felt it imperative to ensure our school community knows of the important work happening across the district this year.

Throughout the year, there will be various modalities we will use to communicate important components of the district and your child's school. As parents and guardians, there is much to juggle, and our goal is to streamline communication to assist you. On the last student attendance day of each month, we will send out a newsletter, "E-News," that will consist of district messaging and links to each principal's individual newsletter. This newsletter is your first E-News of the 2026-2027 school year.
Finally, we are still seeking your input on our communication processes. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen communication between our schools and families, we ask that you complete the Communication Survey below to better understand how families prefer to receive information from the district.
The 11-question Communication Survey will take 5 minutes or less to complete. Your feedback will help us evaluate our current communication practices and ensure we are providing timely and clear information in the ways that work best for families. We encourage all parents and guardians to take a few minutes to complete the survey and share your perspective by clicking the button below. The survey will be available until 8pm on September 30.
Thank you for your support and partnership as we begin the 2026-2027 school year.
Sincerely,
Doug Wernet, Ed.D.
Frankfort School District 157-C Superintendent

Virtual Backpack
Frankfort School District 157-C utilizes a more environmentally friendly and efficient method for sharing information. Flyers, posters, and media from district schools, non-profit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, and approved business partners are available on our "Virtual Backpack" webpage. This approach replaces the traditional practice of sending materials home via students' backpack mail, ensuring easier access and reduced paper waste.
