Progress reports DO NOT contain non-academic grades.

Since we are adjusting schedules, be prepared to keep a record of all grades just in case anything get's lost during the transition.

We will send out more detailed instructions when we get to the 9 week grading period as that one will include our county grading compliance form. At each 9 weeks, Ward has to submit a form stating if all gradebooks are in compliance with the minimum number of grades. If we find someone is not in compliance we have to document this as a concern. Therefore, please keep up with your pacing around grades! We will run our own internal audit, but obviously feel free to set up time in your PLC to review your grades.

A Change is Coming.... A Change is Coming....

We will be making some adjustments as we add our classes. Expect an email later this week with updated duty schedules, lunch times, and specials schedule. We will also complete another roster verification once we have adjusted schedules. Thank you all for remaining flexible as we navigate the changes and updates.

September Creating Character Trait - Responsibility September Creating Character Trait - Responsibility

Our creating character word of the month for September is “Responsibility”! Our focus will be on instilling a sense of responsibility in our students, encouraging them to take ownership of their actions and choices. Our classroom lessons will highlight the importance of responsibility with role-playing, group activities, and stories highlighting being responsible.

Responsibility is an important character trait that helps our children become accountable individuals. Whether it’s completing homework on time, taking care of their belongings, or being reliable in group activities, we believe that teaching responsibility at a young age sets the foundation for a successful and fulfilling future.

Be on the lookout for students that are demonstrating responsibility and input their name into the spreadsheet by October 3. WCES 25-26 Monthly Awards.xlsx

Elementary ELA Curriculum Resources Feedback Form Elementary ELA Curriculum Resources Feedback Form

From the FC RELA Department:

The Elementary ELA team is working diligently to provide elementary PLCs with text set plans for each unit. After the ELA team reviews the documents, they are shared with curriculum reviewers who provide additional feedback before the documents are finalized and published. Even with this extensive process, we recognize that using the resources in real time will provide opportunities for additional feedback. If you would like to share feedback that will support our efforts to provide an outstanding product, please use the form linked below. This form can also be found at the bottom of the “Additional Resources” section of each grade level curriculum page in Canvas. We want to hear from you!

Time Off Request Time Off Request

It looks like the time off request is a little different this year. In the past there was an option to select full day. However, now when you need to request a full day you will put your start time (majority of us our 7:30). You will then put 8 hours in the box labeled duration. See screenshot. If you have questions see Ward.

Substitute Updates Substitute Updates

As you prepare for your duty days and other needed off days please try to connect with one of our preferred subs as this ensures we get someone in the building that knows our school best. Also - if you bump into any good ones then please send their names to Ward and we will add them to the list.

  • In particular I wanted to highlight Lisa Huckaby and Calandra Eineker. They are former teachers and want to be at Wilson Creek. They are new subs to Fulton so please reach out to them if you have a need.
  • Also - Ms. S does like to pick up a job or two each month to maintain her Wilson Creek connection. I can no longer use her in the floating position so feel free to reach out to her if you have a need.

Drill Reporting for Staff That Float Around

Please make sure you send a text to your assigned reporter (found at the top of each column) if you are not in your drill assigned location so they know you are safe. See assignments below. Please ask for his/her cell number if you do not have it.

Crisis Go Instructions

Notes on best practices for using Crisis Go from our district safety team. Apparently there have been situations in which too many communications are being sent through Crisis Go and it makes it difficult to manage. We have never noticed an issue here but review the following guidelines:

  • Be clear with your staff that they are NOT to report attendance via Crisis Go during any emergency. If attendance and individual student information is needed, that will be communicated at the appropriate time.
  • During an active alert, please remind staff that less is more when it comes to entering comments. Messages should only be entered if:
  • The message is directly relevant to the staff member (i.e., they are being asked to respond)
  • The staff member has critical or emergency-related information relevant to the event.

  • Avoid Non-Essential Comments:

  • Comments such as “OK,” “Clear,” or “Good” should not be posted unless specifically requested. During a recent evacuation drill, for example, over 50 “clear” messages were submitted, which could have obscured more urgent or actionable updates. In contrast, if a teacher observes a medical need or safety concern during an event, that information should absolutely be communicated immediately in CrisisGo.

If you are still having trouble getting Crisis Go to send you alerts then send Ward an email so that we can get the app on your devices.
