Happy New Year
Dear Wildcat Community,
Welcome back, and Happy New Year! I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful and joyful Winter Break. As we welcome students back to school, we are excited to begin the New Year together with renewed energy and focus.
This is a wonderful time to reset routines, revisit goals, and continue building strong partnerships between home and school. Our staff is looking forward to reconnecting with students, supporting their learning, and helping them feel welcomed and ready for the months ahead.
Thank you for your continued support of our school community. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to a successful remainder of the school year filled with growth, learning, and connection. Wishing you and your family a happy, healthy New Year—we’re so glad to have everyone back!
Here’s to a “wild” and amazing 2026!
Warm regards,
Andrea Tapia
Volunteer Opportunities
There are so many ways to get involved at Altamont Creek! Whether you have a little time or a lot, your support makes a big difference for our Wildcats. You can help in classrooms, support events like the Book Fair or FundRun, lend a hand in the library, or join a committee through our PTA.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with our school community and support our students’ success.
If you’re interested, please check out the links below for current volunteer opportunities—we’d love to have you join us!
Lunch Bunch: We looking for several adult volunteers to become part of our Lunch Bunch. These volunteers will help assist and supervise students during their lunch break. Please sign up for as few or as many time slots as you are able. We appreciate all the help!

Class Garden Visits: Each class will have the opportunity to meet monthly with our lead volunteer to learn and work in the garden. We’re looking for additional volunteers to help support these class garden sessions — either with your child’s class or any class that fits your schedule.

REMINDER: Drop Off/Parking Lot Expectations
1. There is only ONE lane to drop students off in the valet line. The big, outside lane is the ONLY lane to safely drop students off. I've noticed some families dropping off in the parking lot lane, but that is not safe for students and we need to open for through traffic to park.
2. Please pull ALL the way forward to maximize the number of cars in the drop off lane.
3. If you park, please go to the cross walk to safely cross onto campus.
Together we can make drop off smooth and safe for all students!
BAG YOUR BOOKS!
With rainy weather upon us, we are starting to see WET library books returned to the library every day! Please provide your Wildcat with a large plastic bag to protect their library books from the elements (and yourself from pesky library fines). 2.5 gallon zip-top bags work beautifully for this purpose. If you prefer, bags can be purchased in the library for $1 each. Thank you!
