NEW PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY
In compliance with Kansas law, HB 2299, students are encouraged to leave their personal electronic communication devices at home, but those who bring personal devices including cell phones, smart watches, wireless headphones or earbuds, smart glasses, tablets not issued by the school, and similar devices, must keep them turned off and securely stored in their locker or the school-designated storage location in the office throughout the school day. If a student chooses to use the school provided storage locker in the office, they must drop their device off before school. Devices should not be carried on a student's person or be readily accessible during the school day.
Students at Mission Trail have all been assigned a hallway locker to serve as an option to store personal electronic communication devices from 8:20am to 3:20pm. Student hallway locker information can be found on the Student Info tab on ParentVUE/StudentVUE. Students will still be able to utilize backpacks as they travel from class to class and use of hallway lockers is not required.
Progressive consequences will be assigned for students who are in possession of personal electronic devices on school grounds between 8:20am to 3:20pm. Click the button below for a letter from the ten middle school principals. Thank you for your continued support!

ACADEMIC EXTENSION
You may have noticed on your student’s schedule the “Academic Extension” time. This is a designated 32 minutes each day we call Wolf Time. Each student is assigned a Wolf Time teacher that will focus on Literacy, math fluency, organizational skills, and social emotional learning. Wolf Time takes place every day between First and Second Hour.
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL
Our school day begins at 8:20 and ends at 3:20. The doors open each day at 7:30 for students. From 7:30 – 8:00, students are welcome to sit in the commons area and hang out with friends. At 8:00, students can go to their classrooms, play games in the gym, visit the library, or walk the halls. Beginning at 8:15, we ask students to go to their first hour class by 8:20 to start the day.
See the attached map for the traffic flow for arrival and dismissal. As cars come around the back of the building, we do have two lanes open for cars to take. Once vehicles get close to the building, we ask the two lanes to zipper into one lane along the curb next to the building. There are signs along the car loop indicating when this should occur. When dropping off, students can enter the building through any of the three entrances on the West side of the school. Once students are dropped off, cars may enter the left-hand lane to exit the drop off area.
During dismissal, students exit the building through each of three doors on the West side of MT. Once students are loaded, cars may enter the left-hand lane and exit the car loop.
***Students should not be dropped off or picked up from the parking lot. We do not want students crossing traffic during this busy time. Please help us keep our students safe by using the curb to drop off and pick up.
All bus riders exit the building on the East side and load in the bus lane at the front of the school.
PARAS NEEDED!!!
We're currently looking to hire dedicated and caring paraprofessionals to support our amazing students. If you enjoy making a difference and working in a positive school environment, we'd love to have you on our MT team!!!!!!!!!!
