I. PROPOSITION A
FINAL 2 MEETINGS: PLEASE JOIN OUR DISTRICT TO LEARN MORE
Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at Dekaney High School and Nov. 2 virtually, giving families and staff additional opportunities to learn more and ask questions.
What is Proposition A? Spring ISD Proposition A t is a local funding election, also known as a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) that allows voters to decide whether to approve a tax rate that would generate additional funding for the district’s day-to-day operations, while simultaneously unlocking additional state funding from the State of Texas. Unlike a bond, which pays for buildings and construction, Prop. A would fund the ongoing costs of running the district. Learn more: https://propa.springisd.org/
URGENT: COMMUNITY CAMPUS VISIT DRESS CODE ALERTS
URGENT NOTICE TO ALL PARENTS, GUARDIANS & CAMPUS VISITORS
Timberwolf Families and Visitors,
At Thompson Elementary, we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for every scholar.
Recently, parents have brought concerns to our attention regarding revealing, inappropriate, and offensive attire worn by adults while visiting our campus. These concerns are shared by members of our staff and can also create an uncomfortable and distracting environment for our scholars.
Effective immediately, all parents, guardians, and visitors are expected to wear appropriate attire while on campus. Please refrain from wearing:
- Bonnets, pajamas, robes, or other sleepwear
- Excessively revealing clothing
- Clothing displaying profanity, offensive images, language, or messages
- Any attire inappropriate for a school environment
Offensive or highly inappropriate attire will not be tolerated on campus. Individuals may be asked to return appropriately dressed before entering or participating in campus activities.
Our scholars are watching the examples we set. We cannot ask them to follow school expectations while the adults around them do not model those same standards.
Working together in culture means ALL of uss, taff, scholars, families, and visitors, doing our part. Our school must remain a place where children feel safe, learning remains the priority, and unnecessary distractions are minimized.
Thank you for your immediate attention, cooperation, and partnership in keeping Thompson Elementary SAFE, RESPECTFUL & FOCUSED.
Sincerely,
Principal Day

WHY ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Missed Lessons = Falling Behind: Even one day can mean missing critical instructions and activities, making it harder for your child to catch up.
Impact on Future Success: Consistent attendance is a strong predictor of academic achievement and future opportunities.
Building Resilience: Regular attendance teaches your child the value of perseverance and responsibility—essential skills for success in life.
Stronger Friendships: Daily presence helps your child develop and sustain friendships, which are crucial for emotional and social development.
Healthy Routine: Attending school every day establishes a stable routine, promoting better mental and physical health.
Be sure to contact our Attendance Clerk regarding your child being absent for any reason.
LET'S TALK PERFECT ATTENDANCE! 💯🏆
ALERT: WALKER DISMISSAL
Walker Dismissal Reminder
Parents and guardians, this is a friendly reminder that all Pre-K through 2nd grade scholars who are walkers must be handed directly to an adult at dismissal.
For the safety of our scholars, please do not ask, signal, or prompt your child to cross the street alone to meet you. An adult must come to the designated dismissal area and receive the scholar directly from staff.
Thank you for helping us keep all of our scholars safe during dismissal!
****************************************************************************************************
ALERT: CAR RIDER DISMISSAL
PLEASE REMEMBER
To help us maintain a safe, smooth, and timely dismissal, please make sure your car rider number is clearly visible when entering the dismissal line.
- Car rider numbers are entered into our dismissal system in the order vehicles arrive, which directly determines the order scholars are called, released, and placed in their respective cars.
- Please DO NOT skip or enter ahead of other vehicles in the car rider line. Doing so disrupts the order already entered into our system and delays dismissal—not only for others, but also for your scholar.
- If the car rider line is skipped, you will be required to pick up your scholar from the front office AFTER the dismissal line has closed.
Need a Faster Alternative Permanently
- Parents may choose to change their scholar’s dismissal mode to WALKER. Walker scholars may be picked up off-site in our designated walker area, which may provide a faster option for families who do not wish to wait in the car rider line.
- To change your scholar’s dismissal mode to WALKER, please call the Thompson Elementary front office at 281-891-8480.
Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, organized, and efficient for ALL scholars and families.
GAME ON! 💙💛
Thompson Elementary School
****************************************************************************************************
¡A jugar! 💙💛

ALL CAR RIDERS SHOULD BE DROPPED OFF & PICKED UP IN LANE B; NOT THE FRONT OF THE CAMPUS!
We need you help with traffic safety. All car riders scholars should be dropped off in the mornings and picked up in the afternoon in the car rider line in Lane B; that is on the Wellington Street side of the building. Please help us and the SISD Police Officers on campus keep our scholars safe.
Safety, Security, & TES Traffic Flow Plan
Your support is needed with following the established safety protocols set on campus to ensure the safety of all scholars.
1. When dropping scholars off to campus, please do not leave scholars on the school property before 7:35am as there will be no adult supervision before that time.
2. Please do not drop your scholars off on the curb or sidewalk. Please utilize the car rider line to ensure a potential accident does not happen.
3. If you walk your scholars to school, please do not enter through the doors beyond the cones but rather stop and allow your scholars to enter and walk to class.
4. Please be sure that your scholar(s) is in their grade level dress code daily.
5. Please be sure that your scholar(s) arrive between 7:35 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. This will give them time to eat their breakfast before it is over and instruction starts at 8:05 a.m. sharp
6. If you drop your scholar off after 8:05a, you must walk them into the building and sign them in at the front office.
7. Please be sure that your scholar(s) have their transportation tags daily: (Car rider, Bus, Daycare, Walker/Biker)
8. Lost tags will incur a cost to be paid at the front office for new ones.
9. If you plan to pick your scholar(s) up early, make sure it is before 2:45 p.m. We will not be able to release anyone scholar(s) after this time to ensure that their is no interruption in the dismissal process.
10. Please understand that we will not allow routine transportation changes for any scholars. Choose one mode of transportation so that there will not be any chances of scholars being lost. This aids all staff and Guest Teachers in knowing the one mode of transportation for a scholar.
It is necessary that all protocols are followed daily and consistently to ensure the safety of all scholars and staff. We appreciate your diligence and support.
Thank you,
Principal Day
Gracias,
Directora Day
