Membership

Can you believe it's already April?!?! At this point in time, you should be reaching out to your members for next year's board or have your slate already selected. Remember, those on your slate should currently be members of your PTA/PTSA.

Are you getting ready for and having celebrations that will carry on throughout the remainder of the year? Those who are volunteering to help, are they members of your PTA/PTSA? If not, get them to join. It's never too late to join!

PTA/PTSA Excellence Program (PEP)

Happy Spring!!!

I can't believe it's already April!?! The end of the PEP season for this year is almost here! Be sure to send all of your PEP submissions to PEP@livoniaptsacouncil.org no later than the end of the day on APRIL 30th! Starting 12:01a.m. on May 1, 2023, all submissions will go toward next year's qualifying PEP points. If there's anything you want to make sure is counted for in this year's PEP points, make sure it's sent to PEP. Remember, the top-ranking units will receive a gift from Livonia PTSA Council! Also, the order you are ranked with PEP credit is the order in which your PTA/PTSA unit will be able to select next year's Livonia PTSA Council liaison for your unit. If you have a specific liaison in mind that you really want to have for next year, you still have time to earn more PEP credit to possibly move your PTA/PTSA unit up the rankings. Curious as to what your unit has received credit for? You can find a breakdown on Livonia PTSA Council's website at https://livoniaptsacouncil.org/work/pep/. If you see any possible errors or have any questions, please contact PEP prior to April 30th.

Good luck to all of you!

Buchanan Elementary

March has been an incredibly busy month at Buchanan. We finally got to have our rescheduled VIP dance and the turnout was record breaking. It was a fun night complete with games, a quiet room, a DJ, photo booth and snacks.

The PTA held its annual readathon, which is a fundraiser that coincides with March is reading month at the school. This combined fundraiser creates an easy platform for teachers to track reading minutes and the PTA provides the prizes and incentives. With the incredible number of kids registered for this event, the PTA sent every student home with a book.

The PTA stocked the staff lounge with treats to keep the staff going during this crazy busy month and to show our great appreciation for them. We also made candy bouquets with Tim Hortons gift cards for our night maintenance staff as a special thank you for all their cleanup and set up during our dance.

Frost Middle

Falcon Frenzy
The Frost PTSA was thrilled to partner with the student activities director and staff to hold the annual Falcon Frenzy on Friday, March 24. This end of the day send off to spring break is a great way to reward all the students for their work that quarter. Activities include video games, crafts, an inflatable and (new this year) a silent disco! Families helped support the event by helping chaperone the event, as well as donating and handing out food to students. The PTSA expanded the food this year by purchasing pizzas for the students in addition to the sweet treats. It's a fun-filled afternoon and great to see so many students enjoy themselves before the break!

Randolph Elementary

February and March were fun-filled months for the PTA and our Roadrunner families!

In February, we held our second Youth Making A Difference (YMAD) event. The kids made valentine cards for the seniors in our local community. The YMAD committee counted 30 students who signed up and we can't wait to celebrate them all on April 20th at Churchill High School. That is double from last year's participants. We are so proud of each of our kids who have given their time to our LPS community!

In February, we also had a fun Valentine BINGO night which was a huge success! So many happy faces as we heard "BINGO I won" over and over! Thanks to our parents' candy donations, there were plenty of prizes for our lucky winners!

At the end of February, we reignited our Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) program. The Watch D.O.G.S program welcomes in volunteer dads of Randolph students to spend the day helping out and providing a positive male presence in the school. We have had so many dad volunteers that there is a wait list!

Lastly, our very own PTA enjoyed a table at the Livonia PTSA Council Founders' Day dinner. At the dinner, we got to award teacher Lisa Durand and Randolph PTA YMAD committee chair Sonja Vigil for their dedication and commitment to our students at Randolph! We truly appreciate all the support we receive from our Randolph elementary teachers and our parents. We were so proud to cheer them on as they were honored.

In March, we began our Living Color fundraiser where parents can get ready for spring purchasing beautiful spring flowers and vegetable plants for gardening! On the 15th, the PTA served lunch for our teachers during teacher staff day! We love our teachers and we hope they enjoyed it!

Also in March, we had two dine to donate events. The first was at UrbanAir on the 22nd and the second was at Chuck E Cheese on the 31st. So much fun and a great turn out for both events. Everyone is Excited to Spring into April!

Riley Upper Elementary

The PTA left a special mint themed treat in the staff lounge as a thank you to our amazing staff.

The PTA also helped the staff host a March is reading month themed evening event called Pizza, Popcorn & Paperbacks. We had a great turnout of both staff and Wildcat families.
