MyCAP Middle School Career Speaker Series MyCAP Middle School Career Speaker Series

Our school is launching a Career Speaker Series for students in grades 6–8, and we’d love your help bringing real-world career experiences into our classrooms.

Why Are We Doing This?

Middle school is the perfect time for students to begin discovering who they are and what they might want to do in the future. Through MyCAP, students explore their interests and strengths — but hearing directly from professionals makes those lessons come alive. By volunteering as a guest speaker, you help students:

  • Explore careers they may not know exist
  • Understand different education and training paths
  • Connect school learning to real jobs
  • Gain confidence to dream big about their futures

What Does a Speaker Do?

  • Share your career journey
  • Describe what a typical day at work looks like
  • Talk about education or training needed
  • Answer student questions

Time Commitment: 30–40 minutes

Schedule: 2–3 speakers per month

Format: In-person

Tuesdays or Thursdays 12:22-1:07

Who Can Participate?

  • Parents, guardians
  • family members
  • business owners
  • tradespeople
  • healthcare workers
  • artists
  • entrepreneurs
  • public service professionals — all career paths are welcome!

Interested in Participating?
