As we approach the last 21 days of school please continue to encourage your children to do their best and finish strong. We are currently in Diagnostic season and students are currently completing their mClass EOY Benchmark. Starting May 16 student will began taking their NC Math Assessment. As for stated please continue to encourage your child to stay focused and work hard to ensure that they reach their benchmark growth goals. GRADE LEVEL AND DEPARTMENT
Kindergarten:
- Teacher appreciation week was a blast.If you didn’t show your love you still can bless your special teacher with school supplies or treats.
- Beach trip on Thursday, May 12th. Bring your lunch in a bag no lunch boxes unless you ordered a school lunch. Students can arrive on their regular transportation but will need a ride home.
- M-Class final reading tests in progress so review those sight words.
- Final fun day June 3 along with fun day. Students must earn their special treat. Save the Date: Kindergarten Celebration Program will be June 8, 2022.
First Grade:
- End of year mCLASS testing is in progress. Please encourage your child to try their hardest and do their best.
- We will continue telling time to the hour and half hour next week. We will be reading informational text and discussing the life cycle of chickens.
- Some classroom supplies are getting low. Please check with your child to see if they have everything needed for class.
- As we are nearing the end of the year, learning is still taking place–Please speak with your child about unnecessary talking and playing during instructional time.
- Monday, June 6th will be Awards Day for 1st grade.

Second Grade:
- Please remember that money for our field trip is due on May 20, 2022. No monies will be taken after this date.
- Continue to encourage students to meet their 80% behavior goal so they will be eligible for the field trip.
- Mclass assessments are in progress. Please continue to encourage students to do their best.
- Tuesday, June 7th is Awards Day for 2nd Grade.

- The end of the year is vastly approaching. Continue to talk with students about maintaining appropriate behavior in class and on the bus.

LIBRARY:As the end of the year approaches, please look for any missing or long overdue library books. If there are lost or damaged books we would ask to replace them with the same title (Amazon hardcover books work just fine!) or pay for the book for us to replace. We would really appreciate that if you are able!

News from the Nurse's Desk
As we are approaching the end of the school year, the students have much to accomplish in the next few weeks. The importance of being healthy, eating well and a good night’s sleep so that they can function to the best of their ability is imperative...
Please remind your children they do not need to miss class room time unless they are truly sick, or hurt, as they are here to learn all that they can! I am here to help each one through whatever they may be going through. Always feel free to reach out to me if needed!
