Don't forget to SPRING AHEAD! Set your clocks one hour forward!

We had lots of fun with Author Week and we learned a lot about five different authors!

Each day, a quote was read and students had to guess which book the quote came from. Random students were selected to choose a book each morning!

We are getting ready for our ST Math March Mathness! Our hoop shooting contest is Monday morning! Students have been practicing their shots in gym class to get ready! Let the games begin!! We have our brackets ready to go and lots of prizes!

From the Nurse:

School Health Screenings will begin next week and continue through the month of March for First grade and Kindergarten.

An opt out form went home at the beginning of the year. If you did not fill out the form, and choose to exclude your child from any of the following screenings, please contact me at jwalker@douglasps.net.

State required screenings:

  • Kindergarten will have vision and hearing tests.
  • First graders will have vision, hearing, and heights and weight (BMI) recorded.

If your student wears glasses, please ensure they are wearing them to school. You will be notified only if your child falls outside normal limits for vision and/or hearing. BMI results will be sent upon request only.

**Extra Clothing Reminder- Please remember to keep one full change of weather appropriate clothing in your student's back everyday. They come in handy for spills, accidents, and wet weather!
