Our 5th graders stepped up as campus leaders this week as they took part in their very first Fulcrum: Stand Proud session of the school year! Designed to empower our oldest Trailblazers, this impactful program focuses on character development, self-confidence, and building a supportive culture where students learn to truly be there for one another.

Scholars dove headfirst into high-energy team-building exercises, learning how to listen, communicate, and solve challenges together as a crew. The energy was electric as students encouraged their peers, stepped out of their comfort zones, and cheered each other on through every activity. This amazing session is just the beginning! The Stand Proud program will continue throughout the school year, giving our 5th graders regular opportunities to deepen their leadership skills and strengthen their bonds as a class.

We are so proud of the heart, respect, and unity our 5th graders displayed during this kickoff session. Keep standing proud, supporting your fellow Mustangs, and leading the way on campus! Great job, Trailblazers!

Leading the Way: Student Council Presidential Speeches! Leading the Way: Student Council Presidential Speeches!

Inspiration and true student leadership was on display as our presidential candidates stepped up to the podium to share their vision for Madroña Academy! Stepping out in front of your peers to deliver a speech takes immense courage, dedication, and heart, and every single candidate brought incredible energy and thoughtful ideas for how to Chart the Course for our student body this year.

We are so proud of the hard work, preparation, and bravery displayed by all of our candidates. Standing up to lead takes true Mustang spirit! Hearing each candidate share their passion for making our school an even better place was a wonderful reminder of the bright leaders we have on our campus. With so many incredible ideas shared, we have narrowed down the race! Next week, our Student Council members will cast their final votes between the two candidates who have advanced to the official run-off election.

Thank you to every scholar who threw their hat in the ring and showed us what true leadership looks like. Best of luck to our two presidential finalists as we prepare for next week’s vote!

Creative Masterpieces Art Experience with Ms. Britta! Creative Masterpieces Art Experience with Ms. Britta!

A huge congratulations to the lucky Trailblazers who won our exclusive Art Experience with Ms. Britta at our auction!

Our winning scholars gathered in the art studio for a special, small-group session with our resident art expert. Students got hands-on with a unique creative project, exploring new techniques, expressing their imagination, and creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces to take home.

It was an unforgettable afternoon filled with color, smiles, and artistic discovery. Thank you to Ms. Britta for providing such a memorable experience, and congratulations again to our student artists for continuing to Chart the Course through creativity!

Church Parking Lot Flow & Etiquette Church Parking Lot Flow & Etiquette

We are fortunate to have a strong partnership with our neighboring church, allowing us to use their parking lot for arrival and dismissal. To keep this relationship healthy and to keep our students safe, we need every Mustang family to follow our Parking Flow Etiquette.

We know the morning and afternoon rushes can feel hectic. We all have places to be, appointments to keep, and work to get to. However, when we maintain a positive mindset and prioritize safety over speed, we create a much better environment for our children.

After dropping off or picking up your child, it takes about 20 seconds to drive safely and slowly through the church parking lot loop. That small amount of time makes a world of difference in ensuring every student gets to or from school safely.

Our Parking Lot Etiquette:

  • Follow the Flow: This is a one-way driving lot. Please follow the established directional flow to avoid accidents, gridlock, and confusion.

  • Slow Down: Children may be crossing at any moment, often between cars. Please keep your speed at a crawl.

  • Stay Positive: A wave and a smile go a long way! We are all part of the same community, working toward the same goal: getting our kids to and from school safely.

Thank you for your cooperation and for keeping the safety of our Trailblazers at the heart of your commute!

Charting the Course with Great Attendance! Charting the Course with Great Attendance!

Our school community made incredible strides in attendance last year, and as we Chart the Course for this new school year, we want to keep that positive momentum sailing forward! Showing up to school every single day is an essential part of captaining your own learning journey.

When scholars are present, they are at the wheel and ready to learn, explore, and connect with their teachers and crew. We know unexpected weather happens, but every day in the classroom keeps your child navigating smoothly toward their goals.

If your child has an unexcused absence, you can keep them from drifting off course through an Independent Study Contract:

  • Keep Learning on Track: Completing an independent study contract ensures your child doesn't miss a beat in their learning map. Simply reach out to your child's teacher for details.

  • Sign to Update Records: Once your scholar completes the work, please sign the digital contract sent to your email. Your signature confirms completion and allows us to update your child's attendance record.

Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring our Mustangs are present, taking the wheel, and ready to Chart the Course every day!

Protect Your Child's Chromebook from Accidents! Protect Your Child's Chromebook from Accidents!

We are proud to provide every student with a Chromebook through the District’s 1:1 Program to support their daily learning and help them Chart the Course this school year! While devices are provided at no cost to families, proper care, handling, and daily responsibility are shared between scholars and their parents/guardians.

To give you peace of mind and protect against unexpected repair costs, CVUSD offers an optional Chromebook Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) program.

  • What It Covers: Eliminates out-of-pocket expenses for repairing or replacing devices due to accidental damage, cracked screens, or theft.
  • Why Sign Up: It is a low-cost way to ensure your student’s digital tools stay fully operational all year long without unexpected financial stress.

Please visit the district website to review the ADP coverage options and enroll your scholar's device. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our Mustangs equipped and ready for digital learning!
