Cuero Junior High
Week of September 14, 2026
What's happening at CJH?
π End of the 1st 6 weeks
Thursday is the end of the first six weeks! Please log in to Parent Portal and check your childβs grades. If you have questions or concerns about a grade, please reach out to your childβs teacher.
Teachers are available before and after school for tutorials. Students and families may arrange tutoring for extra help, homework support, makeup work, or retesting.
Homework is an important part of learning in middle school. Our curriculum is challenging, and practice outside of class can help students build confidence and better understand what they are learning. Please encourage your child to complete assigned homework and ask for help when needed.

π Free Cardiac Screenings
Cuero ISDβs School Health Advisory Council is proud to partner with Cuero Regional Hospital to offer free cardiac screenings for current Cuero Junior High eighth-grade students on September 23β24, 2026.
This voluntary screening is designed to help identify potential pre-existing heart conditions that could increase risks during physical activity or athletic competition.
To participate, students must return a signed Consent and Release Form. Forms were sent home with students. You can also download the form here: https://tinyurl.com/mr3prsty
Thank you to Cuero Regional Hospital for partnering with us to support the health and well-being of our students!
π» Chromebooks
This is a reminder that all students are expected to bring their charged Chromebook and charger to school every day.
Students may receive consequences for:
Arriving to class without their Chromebook
Excessive Chromebook checkouts (more than 4 per semester)
Failing to return a loaner Chromebook on the same day it is checked out
Please help us by ensuring your child brings both their Chromebook and charger to school daily.
Thank you for your support!
π· Attendance Policy
Attendance matters every day. Regular, on-time attendance helps students stay connected to instruction, keep up with assignments, and earn course credit. Please review our Attendance, Absence & Tardy Expectations for documentation requirements, the 90% rule, and tardy consequences.
Students who arrive more than 10 minutes after the tardy bell are counted absent. Please help students arrive on time each day.
βπ» Student check-out and deliveries
Students may only be checked out by a Parent/Guardian or someone listed on their Parent Portal Account. Please be prepared to show a valid driver's license or ID Card.
Please note:
- Regular School Days: No student pick-up/check-out after 3:00 PM
- Early Release Days: No student pick-up/check-out after 12:00 PM
Students may bring a lunch box to school for lunch, but no outside food or drinks may be brought in for students. If a student forgets their lunch, it must be dropped off by 9:00 AM
Parents MAY NOT bring outside food or drinks for athletes between 1st and 2nd period unless it is in a lunch box.
Thank you for your understanding!
