Attention 8th Grade Parents

AMC's Yearbook Committee is in need of your help.

What We Need:

1. Baby Photo: A photo from when your child was a toddler or baby. Feel free to be creative with this!

2. Current Photo: A recent picture of your child, ideally taken within the last few months.

Submission Guidelines:

● Please send your photos via email to Christa.Rudder@matsuk12.us or submit a physical copy to the main office by February 28, 2025.

● If submitting a physical copy, be sure to write your child’s name on the back of the photo, so we can return it to you once the yearbook is printed.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in making this yearbook a memorable tribute to our eighth graders. If you have any questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Hello American Charter Families,

As we step into February, it’s exciting to see the sun returning and students continuing to expand their learning. This month, the focus at AMC will continue to be on writing alignment, reading proficiency, and attendance & timeliness. Thank you for consistently supporting your child’s educational journey as we pursue academic excellence together; it’s wonderful to witness the growth and progress each student makes. Coming before we know it will be the 2025 AK STAR Assessment. As the days get longer the school year gets shorter, I urge you to make the most of the remaining days of third quarter to create the best possible learning outcomes for your student(s).

Below is the attendance data from September – January; the goal is to maintain a 95% accumulative attendance rate over the year and have zero students who are chronically absent, which is when a student misses 10% or more of the school year.

AMC SY 25 Monthly Attendance Percentages

September - 95%

October - 94%

November - 88%

December - 91%

January - 92%

Additionally, keep an eye out for upcoming events and opportunities for involvement at AMC.

As always and with sincere appreciation.... thank you for supporting AMC as we, 'Achieve Academic Excellence Together.'

Ms. Farren
