The Pirate Ship
Lytle High School: October 2026
Message from your Principal:
Ahoy, Pirate Family!
October is here, and there is so much to celebrate at Lytle High School! Our Homecoming festivities were a wonderful opportunity to come together, show our Pirate pride, and create memories that make our school community special. Thank you to everyone who helped make Homecoming a success and to our students, staff, families, and community members who continue to make LHS a great place to be!
As we move further into the school year, our first nine weeks officially concluded on October 9. This is a great time for students to reflect on their progress, celebrate their accomplishments, and set goals for the second nine weeks. Whether the first grading period brought great success or a few challenges, every new grading period offers a fresh opportunity to learn, grow, and improve. Encourage your student to stay focused, ask for help when needed, and take pride in the progress they make each day.
Attendance continues to be a priority! Being at school every day matters. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their learning, build relationships with teachers and classmates, and avoid falling behind. Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to learn something new, and those opportunities add up! Thank you for partnering with us to ensure our Pirates are present, engaged, and ready to succeed.
We will also recognize Red Ribbon Week, October 26–30. This week is an opportunity to promote healthy choices, encourage positive decision-making, and remind our students of the importance of living drug-free. We look forward to bringing awareness to this important message while keeping our campus spirit strong!
Finally, I want to remind everyone that the heart of Lytle High School is our people. The encouragement you give a student, the extra effort you put into a lesson, the kindness you show a colleague, and the pride you demonstrate in our school all make a difference. Progress doesn't always happen in giant leaps; sometimes, it's found in the small, consistent steps we take every day. Let's continue to support one another, celebrate our successes, and make the second nine weeks even better than the first!
Thank you for being part of the Pirate Family. Let's keep showing up, lifting each other up, and making Lytle High School a place where every Pirate can thrive.
Sincerely,
Matthew Jenke
Lytle HS Principal

Safe2Speak Up
Lytle ISD has added a communications tool called Safe2SpeakUP at our junior high and high school campuses, allowing our students and parents to quickly, easily, and anonymously report urgent information to school officials. The system empowers students to report bullying, drug use or other personal safety concerns through private messages sent on their mobile and computer Internet-enabled devices.
CrisisGo also has developed a mobile emergency response system that provides a student-safe app available to download and is currently available on all school provided devices. This app is an anonymous way to easily and comfortably communicate with safety teams, counselors, or other specific people based on report type.
The Safe2SpeakUP app is the student companion to CrisisGo's safety app that allows students ages 18 and under to play a part in school safety. Using Safe2SpeakUP, students can report bully-related activity for themselves or their friends, submit safety tips about incidents at schools, and access safety resources during the event of an emergency.
Once they obtain permission from their school districts, they can message within groups or with their school's safety team in charge of bullying. All activities are recorded for reporting purposes, and when selected, anonymity is ALWAYS preserved.
You an download from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
