Principal's Message
Note from Mrs. Lockwood:
We are ‘Fall’ing into learning at Clairemont!
Thank you so much to families who've met with teachers over the past week. Conferences are such a meaningful time to connect, celebrate your child's progress and make plans for continued growth. If you haven't had your conference yet, there's still time. Please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule a meeting that works best for your schedule.
We had a great time at our Fall Literacy Night. Thank you all for attending!
We just kicked off October, but November will be here soon. November is Family Engagement Month, so mark your calendars for our third annual Family Movie Night!!! This year's movie night will be on Friday, November 6, at 5:30. Tickets will go on sale Monday, October 19. I hope to see you there!
Tomorrow is our second Walk & Roll of the school year. Now that the weather is cooler and the leaves are changing, a morning walk to school will be wonderful.
Every day this week, our attendance percentage improved. Let's finish the week with 98% or higher. Remember every bulldog, every day!
Friday: 113/127, 89% 👀👀
Monday: 123/129, 95%
Tuesday: 124/129, 96%
Wednesday: 124/129, 96%
Thursday: 125/129, 97%
A reminder that there's no school for students this coming Monday, October 12. Monday is a Teacher/Staff workday. Students will return to school on Tuesday, October 13. I look forward to seeing the kiddos back in the building on Tuesday!

Book Fair Ends Tomorrow!
We have had a fun and successful book fair week! Thank you to everyone who came out on Literacy Night and all the students who have shown their reading enthusiasm with the spirit days!
Congratulations to our winners in the estimation contest on Literacy Night! The correct answer was 113, and these three students all tied with a guess of 110! They got to choose a free book from the book fair.
Tomorrow is the last day of the book fair! The book fair will be open as students and parents arrive to school, so feel free to stop by and shop when you drop off your children.
You may also shop online at www.littleshopofstories.com and use code CLAIREMONT at checkout and the school will receive credit for the sale! A portion of all sales during the book fair comes back to Clairemont for us to buy new books for the library.
Show your team spirit tomorrow for the last spirit day, and find out how many minutes we have read all together during the Read-a-Thon.
Our students have read 8,228 minutes this week! Can we make it to 10,000??? If every single student reads for just 20 minutes tonight we will reach our goal! As an added incentive, if we get to 10,000 minutes, Ms. D will get a pie in the face at the next Community Crew!
