Milwood Weekly Newsletter Master

Dear Milwood Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Open House! The turnout was fantastic, and it was a joy to see our families exploring the building, connecting with staff and community partners, while enjoying the event. Strong partnerships between home and school are truly at the heart of everything we believe in at Milwood Middle. When we work together, our students thrive both academically and socially, and we couldn't do this work without your support.
School Expectations & Routines: Our Lancer students have had a great week. They are doing a wonderful job navigating the hallways safely, keeping their hands to themselves, and arriving to class on time. Please continue encouraging your child at home about the importance of punctual attendance and positive behavior.
Cell Phone Policy: Our students are adapting remarkably well to the new cell phone policy. They have done an excellent job keeping their devices stowed away during school hours (7:25 AM – 2:20 PM). We truly appreciate your support at home in reinforcing this expectation.
Student IDs & Safety: Student IDs are essential to keeping our building safe. All students have been issued temporary IDs, and they are doing a great job wearing them around their necks daily. Here are a few important updates regarding IDs:
Permanent IDs: Official IDs are expected to arrive within the next two weeks.
Forgotten IDs: Students who forget their ID must wait to enter the building until all other students have entered, and they will also be called last for lunch.
Replacement IDs: If an ID is lost, a replacement can be purchased for $2.00 in the main office. Once paid, our technology department will print a new ID and deliver it to the student's first-hour teacher the following morning.
Safety First!
To prioritize student safety, drop-off and pick-up location is located at the front circle loop off Konkle Street (see aerial view below).
Car Riders: Drop-off and dismissal pick-up will occur exclusively in the Konkle Street circle loop.
Buses Only: Please do not use the staff parking entrance. Also note that the back lane (near basketball courts) is strictly reserved for buses only!
