GIRLS SOCCER

EHT Girls' Soccer split their two games this week dropping Tuesday's home opener to Ocean City 6-1 while beating Middle 2-0 on Thursday. Sophomore Ava Ferrara scored her first goal of the season and her third career goal off of a brillant through ball from junior captain Aniyah Parker who drew three defenders to her before releasing the ball in behind the Ocean City defense. On Thursday, sophomore Ali Weller buried the ball into the back of the net off of a perfectly placed corner kick from sophomore Abby Mathis early in the first half. Sophomore forward Brielle VonColln doubled the lead about twenty minutes later with a slick chipped ball that found its way up and over the keeper to secure the lead. Junior Ava Kraybill and senior captain Angelina Horin helped the Eagles secure their second shutout in three games. EHT moves to 2-1 and stands in second place in the CAL American conference after two weeks of play.

BOYS SOCCER

The Boys Soccer team kicked off it's season last week against their biggest Divisional Rival, St. Augustine Prep. EHT played extremely tough, taking the Hermits into double overtime before giving up a goal in the 95th minute. Sophomore, Gio Bongiorno, scored the Eagles game tying goal. Goalie Chris Minshall kept the Eagles in the game, standing on his head at time and making 10 saves.

EHT traveled to Ocean City this past Tuesday and gave the Red Raiders a scare. EHT scored quickly and went up on the Raiders 2 nil early in the first half. Senior Ryan Evenson scored early after applying relentless pressure on the opposing defense. EHT was granted an own goal off of a Raider head. The Eagles would go on to lose 4-3. Senior, Mathew Sanchez scored the third Eagle goal from a beautiful assist from Angel Mendoza.
