ROAR REPORT

Dear Parents,

As we head into November, I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU! October was a busy month at Wilson, and I am so grateful for all the support from our families. From SEP Conferences and Safe and Healthy Choices Week to the Fall Carnival, Halloween, and everything in between, thank you for showing up and being part of all the fun!

I also want to thank you for everything you do each day to support your children. Getting them to school on time, helping them with their learning, encouraging friendships, and helping them grow into kind, responsible kids all make such a difference. We couldn't do what we do without your support and partnership!

November is a great time to reflect on the things we are thankful for, and I can honestly say I have so much to be grateful for here at Wilson. Our students, families, teachers, and staff are some of the very best things about my job. I feel lucky to be part of this school and to work with such wonderful people every day.

Thank you for being here, for supporting Wilson, and for helping make our school such a great place to be! I hope you and your families have a wonderful month!

Al comenzar noviembre, quiero tomarme un momento para decirles ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS! Octubre fue un mes lleno de actividades en Wilson, y estoy muy agradecida por todo el apoyo de nuestras familias. Desde las conferencias SEP y la Semana de Decisiones Seguras y Saludables hasta el Carnaval de Otoño, Halloween y todas las demás actividades, ¡gracias por acompañarnos, participar y ser parte de toda la diversión!

También quiero agradecerles por todo lo que hacen cada día para apoyar a sus hijos. Llevarlos a la escuela a tiempo, ayudarlos con su aprendizaje, fomentar sus amistades y enseñarles a ser niños amables y responsables hace una gran diferencia. ¡No podríamos hacer lo que hacemos sin su apoyo y colaboración!

Noviembre es un excelente momento para reflexionar sobre las cosas por las que estamos agradecidos, y sinceramente puedo decir que tengo muchísimo que agradecer aquí en Wilson. Nuestros estudiantes, familias, maestros y personal escolar son algunas de las mejores partes de mi trabajo. Me siento muy afortunada de formar parte de esta escuela y de trabajar con personas tan maravillosas todos los días.

Bell Photography will be at Wilson Elementary on Thursday, November 5th for students who would like to have their pictures retaken or who missed our original Picture Day.

Important Reminders:

• Picture Retakes: If your student already had their picture taken and would like a retake, they MUST bring their original picture packet to return before a new picture can be taken.

• Students Who Missed Picture Day: We need ALL students to have a school photo, even if you are not purchasing a picture package. If your student missed our original Picture Day, they will need to have their photo taken on November 5th.

• Online Ordering: Families who would like to purchase school pictures can order and pay online through Bell Photography. CLICK HERE TO ORDER AND PAY ONLINE.

On Wednesday, November 11th, we invite all students to wear red, white, and blue in honor of Veterans Day as we celebrate and express our gratitude for those who have served in the military. That morning, we will hold a Veterans Day parade where our students will proudly show their appreciation. If you have a family member or friend who has served, we would be honored to have them join the parade—please see the details below. That afternoon, our 5th grade students will present a special Veterans Day assembly. We look forward to a meaningful and memorable day of gratitude and celebration! 🇺🇸

El martes 11 de noviembre, invitamos a todos los estudiantes a vestir de rojo, blanco y azul en honor al Día de los Veteranos, mientras celebramos y expresamos nuestra gratitud a quienes han servido en el ejército. Esa mañana, realizaremos un desfile por el Día de los Veteranos donde nuestros estudiantes mostrarán con orgullo su agradecimiento. Si tiene un familiar o amigo que haya servido, nos sentiríamos honrados de que se unan al desfile; por favor, consulte la información a continuación. Turkey Trot

The Turkey Trot will take place on Monday, November 23rd, during each grade level’s recess. Students are invited to participate by running laps. For each lap completed, students will earn one ticket to enter a drawing that will take place during the Gobble Off event that will be held on Tuesday, November 24th.
Students who plan to participate are encouraged to wear appropriate running shoes that day.

Carrera del Pavo

El Turkey Trot (Carrera del Pavo) se llevará a cabo el lunes 23 de noviembre, durante el recreo de cada grado. Los estudiantes están invitados a participar corriendo vueltas. Por cada vuelta que completen, recibirán un boleto para participar en un sorteo que se realizará durante el evento Gobble Off, el martes 24 de noviembre.

Se recomienda que los estudiantes que planean participar usen zapatos deportivos adecuados para correr ese día.

Gobble Off

The Gobble Off will take place on Tuesday, November 24th at 1:45 PM. Grade level winners will compete in this schoolwide event. If your student is a grade level winner, you will be notified and invited to attend.
A special prize will be awarded to the Gobble Off champion!

As the weather begins to get colder, please make sure your child brings a warm coat to school each day. It’s very helpful if your child’s name is written inside their coat so it can be returned easily if it gets misplaced. If your child is in need of a coat, please reach out to Mrs. Jorgensen—we will do our best to help.

According to district policy, students are expected to go outside for recess unless there are extreme weather conditions (such as a wind chill below 20 degrees).

If your child needs to stay indoors for health reasons, please send a note explaining the situation. For an extended indoor stay (longer than three days), a doctor’s note is required.
